Cost to move from 1.02 to 1.01 (SF 12-team)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Cost to move from 1.02 to 1.01 (SF 12-team)

Postby blemly » Wed Jan 20, 2021 2:24 pm

Hey all,

Trade season is upon us, and I have a question I’d like the group’s input on. I “tanked” last year (bought IR/injured guys and traded assets for ‘21 picks. Tried my hardest for that 1.01 but came up 10 points short to another owner doing a bit of the same. As it stands, I own the 1.02, 1.03, 1.05, 1.06, and 2.03, and 2.09.

I want to get Lawrence. Willing to pay a good price too, although I haven’t offered anything substantial yet. My question is pretty simple: what do you think it takes to move from the 1.02 to the 1.01 in SF?

This is Team 5 if you think players get it done instead of picks.
Team 1: 12-team SF 0.5 PPR:
QB: Dak, Russ, Stafford, Geno, Dalton
RB: Harris, Gibson, Chubb, Cohen
WR: DK, Ridley, Kirk, Chark, Woods, C Samuel, Shepard, Reagor
TE: Fant, Knox
Team 2: 14-team PPR SF TEP:
QB: Wilson, Burrow, Geno, Foles
RB: Mixon, Gibson, Hines, Cohen, Pollard
WR: DJM, Cooper, Sutton, Deebo, R. Moore, ARSB, Eskridge, Renfrow
TE: Gesicki, Njoku, Arnold
Team 3: 12-team PPR SF:
QB: Watson, Lawrence, Winston, Cam
RB: Harris, Ekeler, Dobbins
WR: Hill, AJB, Woods, Chark, Lockett
TE: Gesicki, OJH, Firkser
Team 4: 12-team SF TEP Devy
QB: Wilson, Geno, Ryan, Cousins
RB: Zeke, Chubb, Sanders, Pollard, Hines, Cohen, Henderson
WR: Cooper, Godwin, Sutton, JuJu, Samuel, Fuller, Shepard, Campbell
TE: Fant, Gesicki, Ertz, Freiermuth
Devy: Boutte, Young, Slovis, Harris
Team 5: 12-team PPR SF:
QB: Dak, Lance, Jones, Cam
RB: Swift, Sanders, Dobbins, Pollard
WR: Sutton, DJM, Golladay, Chase, Pittman, Kirk, Campbell, Mims, Wallace
TE: Herndon, Gesicki, Freiermuth

I would say it will take a good bit to move up to 1.01 in SF. This will depend on what the current 1.01 owner's needs are in regards to if one of your players could get it done. In terms of picks, I would say at least 1.05 or 1.06 would be need added to 1.02. I would lead with 1.02/1.06, but I'd be willing to add 2.09 also if needed.

I'd try 1.02 and 2.03 to start, try keeping those firsts. Maybe even throw out "I'm a huge buckeyes fan and want to make sure I get my guy" then take Lawrence

1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Flex

Mahomes, Lawrence

1.01, 1.04, 1.11, 1.12, 3.10, 2 firsts next year

I would skip all the guesswork and ask the 1.01 owner what would be needed. Trying to do this now is the best way to go before the offseason hype gets any crazier for Lawrence.

You prob aren’t going to get 1.01 if you are only giving up 1.02 and 1.06. The Lawrence hype is real and rightfully so. Lawrence is easily in a tier of his own in any QB premium league. Does the 1.01 owner have any late 1sts?

Maybe you can get away with sending 1.02+1.03 for 1.01+late 1st (or similar value).

And that’s only if the 1.01 owner is even open to trading the 1.01. You can try asking the owner but you won’t like his reply. But you say you want Lawrence, but how much are you willing to pay for him?

I must not be there yet with Lawrence, but I'd much rather have Fields + one of Harris/ETN/Chase/Smith/Pitts or a 2nd tier QB over Lawrence. I'd offer 1.02 + an early 2nd, but would go as high as a late 1st

What other picks does the 1.01 have?

I don't think 1.02 + 2.03 does it given Lawrence's value. If it does then great, if not I think it would be the 1.02 + 1.06 for the 1.01 + late first.

1.02 + a 2 likely gets laughed at. Maybe try 1.02 and 1.06 for 1.01 and and early 2 but honestly good luck getting 1.01 off someone this year...

Cant imagine a single 2nd gets the job done. Its maybe a starting point, but I'd expect to add another 1st to the deal or a player of that value. Even then, if the team needs QB at all, they wont be selling the 1.01.

I think he is going to unabtainable from an owner that tanked in order to likely take him. He probably wants him as much as you. You would likely have to give him 3 1sts to get him to start listening. Not worth it IMO. I agree with Gator though, ask him straight up. You'll know pretty quickly what the cost willl be and there is nothng to lose

Personally I am taking Fields, Wilson, Harris or TE and Chase and I am thrilled with my draft. Trevor looks like he is going to excel, but that is a haul and quickens your rebuild dramatically

Updated information:

So far, I have offered 1.06 + Lock + Slayton for 1.01 and 1.02 + 2.08 + Slayton for 1.01. Both turned down (unsurprisingly) as they were more feelers than anything else.

He has a few other high picks of note. So far, he owns the 1.01, 1.04, 1.12, 2.01, and 2.02.
