Keeper selections

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Keeper selections

Postby Zhoward88 » Thu Jan 14, 2021 7:57 am

I’m wanting to know who you would drop here. I have to keep 16 players and I’m torn on guys like kerryon/Lindsay/slayton/gallman/herndon. I like the potential of all 3 TEs. But I k ow it’s likely not smart to keep 3 with no premium.
10 team league....16 offensive keepers selected by April first. 28 man rosters during the season. 1 keeper defense and 1 keeper kicker.

.5 ppr, TE premium +.5, .2 return yards, big play bonuses, 4 team playoffs and 2 week super bowl (wk 15,16).
Start 1 QB 6 pt passing TD, 2 RBs, 3 WR, 1 flex, 1 TE.

QBs- Dak P
RBs- miles sanders, CEH, Najee Harris, Antonio gibson, James robinson, Boston Scott, qadree ollison, eno Benjamin, Sony michel, kerryon Johnson, gerrid Doaks, Larry rountree,
WRs- Brandon aiyuk, shenault, Adam thielen, Antonio brown, kadarius Toney, Jacobi Meyers, Dwayne eskridge, jalen Darden.

TEs- Goedert, fant, Hayden hurst, Dan Arnold, Donald parham
Kicker- koo

Drops:
K. Johnson
Higgins
Guyton
Michel, Herndon or T Johnson - whoever you like the least in a 10 team format.

The 4 guys I would cut here would be:

Tyron Johnson
Dalton Schultz
Jalen Guyton
Rashard Higgins

Kerryon, Lindsay, and Gallman aren't sexy holds but would all have a role in the event of injury as it stands now. I would give Herndon another go and see if he can make a jump post-Gase, but he'd be on a short leash.

That ^ was going to be my gut reaction too, but then I realized:
  • This decision has to be made before the NFL draft. That's tough.
  • You'd be dropping 2 exciting WRs in an exciting Chargers offense. Neither are primary options, granted.
I'd honestly try to find a way to keep Tyron Johnson and / or Guyton somehow. Questions I'd ask are:
Is Gallman a JAG once Barkley comes back?
How patient do we have to be with Herndon based on that nice season in 2018?

So my arm could be twisted easily into dropping: Schultz, Herndon, Gallman, and Higgins. But I think we've narrowed it down to 6 choices.
"Marathon Square" - 16 team full PPR league with 24 player roster. Keep 16 per year indefinitely, draft 8. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Team DST
QB: Jordan Love, Deshaun Watson
RB: Travis Etienne, Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, Kendre Miller, Jaleel McLaughlin, Sean Tucker, Deuce Vaughn
WR: A.J. Brown, Garrett Wilson, Tee Higgins, Calvin Ridley, Michael Wilson, Kendrick Bourne, Tutu Atwell, Allen Lazard, Isaiah Hodgins, Justin Shorter
TE: T.J. Hockenson, Cole Kmet, Kylen Granson
K: Didn't make the playoffs in 2023  , and don't usually hold one in the offseason
Team DST: Cowboys, Lions

Picks:
2024: All my picks except 3rd rounder

Disclaimer: My one and only Championship in this league was way back in 2011. Therefore, take my replies with the appropriate grain of salt.

Just re-read the OP, which includes: .2 return yards, big play bonuses

I like BOTH Chargers WRs a little more in that format due to their big play potential. Tyron was also used in the Kick Return game, albeit limited and I don't have any insight into whether that would continue or increase in 2021.

Yea honestly I’m having a hard time with kerryon/Lindsay and tyron j/guyton/Higgins. I have a fantasy crush on tyron Johnson. I just feel he has a real chance to emerge there next year. I want to cut gallman so bad. He did play well for a third of the season or so. And Herndon I have held for 2 years amd even dropped him week 6 but picked him back up once I knew I missed the playoffs. He kinda came on again last couple weeks. I don’t have a problem with cutting Herndon but even Higgins is intriguing. He’s kinda on the verge of coming in to his own now too.
