I am having trouble deciding when it is the time to sell a player or build around him. For instance: I have DK Metcalf in a SF TE Premium PPR league. I have gotten multiple offers from league mates for him. In dynasty leagues however Metcalf is a top 3 WR to have. My dilemma is should I trade Metcalf or should I keep him and use him as a building block to rebuild my team, and also is there such thing as a player that would be close to un-tradeable when trying to rebuild a dynasty team?

It all comes down to return. What offers have you received for Metcalf? It would take a haul to move him, but I dont think any player is untouchable personally. If you get a crazy good offer for any player that really helps your team overall, it's a good move.

100% agree with Gator. No player is untouchable, but there are some that would take a massive return to move, and Metcalf is one of them at this point. Generally speaking, I would say Metcalf is a guy you build around. I say that because he is a guy that is young enough to serve as a rebuild cornerstone, but is also productive enough already to serve a competitive team. There aren’t a ton of players that fit that mold, but if a Godfather offer comes along that serves your build, you take it.

I don’t know much about SF anything other than it alters values of positions. In my mind, DK is DK regardless of format. I would look at him as a cornerstone piece. Sorry if my advice sucks in advance.

If you can turn DK into 3 cornerstone pieces, it makes more sense. In a rebuild, it is all about gaining value through trades and waivers.

I'd pass on all those trades. Boyd and 1.03 isn't bad but having 1.01 and 1.04 makes it less appealing IMO.

Realistically, your team isn't that far off. You will have Dak and Lawrence at QB which are two great pieces for the next 10 years. RBs will be spotty but Swift will be a stud, Hines has ppr value, Moss is on the way up, Williams comes back and could have PPR value. Your WRs are solid and young plus the picks will get you more talent and depth. I really like your TE group. I'd hold and use the draft picks.

None of those offers help your team down the road. with the picks you have and build around DK with chase, Smith, etienne and maybe add Trask later but there is ALOT of good young WR's in the draft and you have 5 good picks to build with. I wouldnt trade DK or Dak for picks, you dont need picks IMO

Boyd and 1.03 would be the closest, but they'd need to add another late 1st to really get close IMO. Agree with the others, based on your roster DK makes a good cornerstone along with Dak and Lawrence (your 1.01) to start building around. Look to take one of the Chase, Smith, Etienne, Harris group with your 1.04, and maybe another QB at 1.08 depending how the draft falls. RB looks weaker to me this year, so maybe some WR darts with those 2nd round picks and ride it out. Hard to tell without seeing the whole league but I'm guessing you are a couple years out. But if some of your WRs pop off you could probably trade for a RB and draft a couple next years draft and be looking good going into 2022/23.

Trade calculators are never a be all/end all answer; however they can help give a quick decent reference to value so you don't waste too much time looking at bad offers like those 3 above. Just check to see when they were last updated and make sure the settings for them are set for your league set up (2qb vs 1qb ; 10 team vs 12 team ; etc.) as those things will effect the values generated.

These ones are free and decent at giving some general value, but obviously don't include all the minutiae of every trade.
