Trade for a QB or be patient? (1QB league)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade for a QB or be patient? (1QB league)

My QB room was ugly this year and despite having a top-3 roster in the league, I was at a QB disadvantage most weeks

Current QB room: Dak (IR), Ben, Cam, Dalton, A. Smith
I'll get Dak back, but this year showed me that I'm one injury away from being at a disadvantage

The only pick I have in this draft is the 3.02. - Should I:

A) Trade a decent skills player for a higher end QB?

B) Trade a lower end skills player + 3.02 to move up to the 2nd round

C) Wait and see what falls to 3.02

For reference, these are the QBs that have been available in the 3rd in past years of this league:
2019 - Lock, Haskins, D.Jones | 2020 - Love, Hurts, Gordon, Eason
Team 1:
12-team | PPR | SuperFlex | 0.5-TEP
Start: 1QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/3FLX/1SF
QB: Herbert, Kyler, Baker, Jimmy G, Mariota, DTR
RB: Taylor, Saquon, Javonte, Conner, C.Evans, TDP
WR: Chase, Aiyuk, Olave, Diggs, Diontae, Hollywood, MT, Shaheed
TE: Engram, Woods, Kraft
'24 picks: 1.08, 3.05

Team 2:
12-Team | PPR | SuperFlex | 0.5-TEP
Start: QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/3FLX/1SF
QB: Mahomes, Allen, Russ
RB: Breece, JT, Swift, Javonte, Mostert, Zamir
WR: Chase, Aiyuk, Nico, Kupp, Hollywood, Kirk, MT
TE: Pitts, Njoku, Woods
'24 picks: 4.01

Team 3:
12-Team | PPR | SuperFlex | 0.5-TEP
Start: QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/3FLX/1SF
QB: Hurts, Dak, Stafford, Z.Wilson, DTR
RB: Saquon, Swift, Achane, Kamara, Ford
WR: Jefferson, AJB, ARSB, Nico, Diontae, OBJ
TE: Goedert, Njoku, Fant, Woods
'24 picks: 4.08, 4.12, 5.12

I think you are in good shape once Prescott gets back. If he gets hurt again, I would go after a QB then. I would see which rookie falls too.

I tried that this season and I wasn't able to get anyone. There are 2 guys in the league that each have 4 starting QBs on their rosters and they cling to them. The rest of the league was pretty thin at QB and therefore not willing to move one, even if I threw in one of my (less appealing) options lol.

The good news about those 2 teams is, half of those QBs could be in danger of losing their starting jobs (Lock, Minshew, Darnold, Teddy)

What do you think an option like Tannehill or a similar tier QB would cost?

Tannehill specifically, probably pricey as that's his owner's QB1 - he's got Tannehill, Baker, D.Jones, Winston
Similar tier, tough to say but I'll explore it!

Might be worth checking who the best priced option is and go from there. My league is a 1 QB league also and the prices are very high too.

You don't have to pay up for a QB with Dak, especially if you hold the 3.02 and with this QB draft class. Cam and Smith likely aren't going to get starting gigs next year. I would roll with Dak & Ben (Dalton looked okay in Dallas eventually, hold him as Dak's backup or maybe he'll be a starter somewhere. He can be dropped if he ends up being a backup somewhere else). There are probably 4-5 QBs that I'm looking forward to this year. I don't think that you will get 2-3 of them at the 3.02, but i'm sure the number 4 and 5 will likely fall. I dont see a reason that you should pay a premium price for a back up QB.

I hate this. I have a league exactly like it. 2 or 3 teams load up on a ton of QBs so the deepest position becomes shallow sitting on their bench. My team 2 league, one guy has Josh Allen, Burrow, Goff, Tannehill, Big Ben, Alex Smith. I'm stuck rolling out Baker or Cousins because he values them all at a mid first at least. All QBs are rostered and most backups are too. In a one QB...
Team 1: 12 team, PPR
1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Flex

Mahomes, Lawrence
Najee, Swift, Javonte, Jamaal W, Murray
DK, DJM, Juju, Jameson, Gallup, Van
Pitts, Friermuth
1.01, 1.04, 1.11, 1.12, 3.10, 2 firsts next year

Team 2: 12 Team, SF TEP (1.5 PPR)
1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex, 1 SF

Mahomes, Burrow, Cousins, Rudolph
CEH, Swift, Gibson, Jacobs, Mattison, Scott, McFarland
DK, AJB, Ridley, McLaurin, Kupp, Landry, Mims, Hamler, Miller, Johnson, Robinson
Andrews, H. Henry, Sternberger, Alie-Cox, Herndon

Same as Team 2
Watson, Burrow, Lance, Z. Wilson
Pollard, Mattison
Chase, D. Smith, Boyd, Hardman, E. Moore, Cephus, A. Rodgers, Harry, Boykin, A. Tate, Miller
Hockenson, Thomas, Albert O, Njoku
3 additional firsts

Same as Team 2
TLaw, Burrow, Watson, Darnold
CEH, Gus, Cohen
Juju, Chark, Shenault, Boyd, Landry, Renfrow, Robinson,
Engram, Kmet, Firkser, Schultz, Arnold, Herndon
5 additional firsts

Yep, it's incredibly frustrating.

Especially because most experienced dynasty players would advise you not to carry multiple QBs or to overvalue them in single-QB leagues; that strategy is great and I agree with it in theory. But when you have these hoarders (which most of my leagues do), it throws everything off, forces you to re-evaluate and in some cases, make an uncharacteristic move

i mean, people invented superflex because qbs weren't valued enough, to be in a 1qb league where qbs have value is cool.

I think it's becoming the norm even in 1QB leagues. I started playing in dynasty leagues just 3 years ago. I'm in 5 leagues, and this is an issue in all of them (to varying levels)

I'm in only 2 dynastys, one is a SF, one is 1QB. The one QB league values QBs significantly higher than SF.
