Ridley or Deebo/Robinson/2021 1st?

Postby msdeac » Wed Jan 06, 2021 10:29 am

Am in a PPR with 20-man rosters, small line-up - 1QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 2 RB/WR/TE, K, DST

Was offered Deebo, James Robinson + 1.12 for Ridley & JaMycal Hasty (note: I plan to counter for one of his other 1sts - our league does a lottery for picks 1-6, which will occur in a few months, and his other 2 1sts will be lottery-eligible)

My roster:
QB: Russ/Teddy
RB: Kamara/Sanders/Latavius/Hasty
WR: Ridley/Woods/Jeudy/Pittman/Mims/DP-J/Antonio/Cephus/Gabriel/Davis
TE: Logan T/JimmyG

I realize Ridley is huge, but I'm basically getting 3 for 1. Worth it?

How many players are "kept" each year out of the 20? And how many rounds in the draft?
"Marathon Square" - 16 team full PPR league with 24 player roster. Keep 16 per year indefinitely, draft 8. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Team DST
QB: Jordan Love, Deshaun Watson
RB: Travis Etienne, Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, Kendre Miller, Jaleel McLaughlin, Sean Tucker, Deuce Vaughn
WR: A.J. Brown, Garrett Wilson, Tee Higgins, Calvin Ridley, Michael Wilson, Kendrick Bourne, Tutu Atwell, Allen Lazard, Isaiah Hodgins, Justin Shorter
TE: T.J. Hockenson, Cole Kmet, Kylen Granson
K: Didn't make the playoffs in 2023  , and don't usually hold one in the offseason
Team DST: Cowboys, Lions

Picks:
2024: All my picks except 3rd rounder

Disclaimer: My one and only Championship in this league was way back in 2011. Therefore, take my replies with the appropriate grain of salt.

Nice value here overall, but I would really struggle to move Ridley.

If this was SF, I would make the move but with 1QB, that late first is really tricky to hit on. Realistically if the pick was like 8 I would pull the trigger but as it sits, I would reluctantly decline.

Honestly this makes no sense to do. Past 2 years says Deebo isn't anyone to be excited about. Passable but no more exciting prospect than KJ Hamler. You have a pile of high ceiling potential at WR already why add more questions and remove a known stud? Robinson had a great rookie year but his performance at RB is not going to close the gap you lose with Ridley at WR.

Would you counter with a request for one of the lottery 1sts (1.1-1.6)?

Ridley is pretty much 7 more years of top tier WR play. Robinson is likely to be out of football while Ridley can very well still be a WR2 in his 30's. Maybe last year I could have been tempted but still pass regardless if it was even 1.1. this year. Just doesn't really make sense for your team. Trade a 3rd for Myles Gaskin and Nyheim Hines.

Depends on the owner but yeah. 7th round pick, tons of people think he gets replaced in the draft. Ahmed chatter, system production so JAG. Find his threads on this forums you will see tons of people see no value moving forward. Same can be said for Wilson or Mostert.
