Diggs for Ekeler and Claypool

Postby BucFanJKE » Wed Jan 06, 2021 7:13 am

Adopted an orphan a couple days ago. Locked up my first trade. This team is hot garbage. It earned the 1.04 but on paper it's the worst team by a lot in terms of assets to move.

My team- 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, 3 WRT. (0.5 PPR, TE premium, 6 pt passing tds, and very small first down bonuses (0.125 for passing, 0.5 for rushing/receiving).

QB- Wilson, Rodgers, Big Ben, Foles, Tyrod
RB- Latavius Murray, Sony Michel, Mark Ingram, Dion Lewis, Cordarrelle Patterson
WR- Diggs, Deebo, Julio, Beasley, Agholor, Emmanuel Sanders, Cobb, Amendola, Alshon Jeffery, Kenny Stills, Willie Snead, Braxton Berrios, Juwan Johnson
TE- Kelce, Jimmy Graham, Greg Olsen, Kyle Rudolph, Jack Doyle, Nick Boyle

Here is the trade.
Give: Stefon Diggs
Receive: Ekeler, Claypool, 23 2nd

I actually don't really love Claypool as much as most, but I figure I can hold him and when Juju most likely leaves his value should increase. If he doesn't then I just keep him and hope for a couple big games or a ceiling game. I will be flipping Ekeler at some point because I plan on trimming this down to the foundation not even the studs.
Team 1-
SF .5 PPR TE Prem (1Q, 1SF, 2R, 2W, 1T, 3WRT)

WR- Chase, Lamb, London, Pittman, MT, QJ, Bateman, Jamo, OBJ, Skyy
TE- Freiermuth, Kincaid, Chig, Fant, Musgrave, Woods, Bellinger
2024: 1st, 2nd, 4th

Team 2-
.5 PPR TE Prem (1Q, 2 R, 3W, 1 T, 3 WRT)
QB: J. Allen, Kyler, Stroud
RB: CMC, Bijan, Gibbs, JT, Breece Hall, Kamara, Gibson, 4nette
WR: Diggs, Hill, AJB, Aiyuk, London, JSN, Hollywood, M.Mims, Meyers, Shaheed
TE: Kelce, Kyle Pitts, Dulcich, Logan Thomas
2024: 2 1st (one top 3), 4th

Team 3- (Adopted Dumpster Orphan)
.5 PPR TE Prem (1Q, 2 R, 3W, 1 T, 3 WRT)
QB: J. Allen, Dak, Young
RB: Gibbs, Hall, J. Cook, Warren, Bigsby, K. Mitchell, Dobbins, D. Cook,
WR: Lamb, Wilson, Olave, Higgins, London, JSN, Bateman, Wan'Dale, Z. Jones, Hyatt
TE: Kittle, Kincaid, Woods, Likely

Do you know what you might be able to get for Ekeler? I think you should have recieved more, but I'm not an Ekeler fan at all. Hopefully Claypool continues to trend up.

I'm not sure off the top of my head, but I'll be hoping for about mid first round value. That's kind of where I think he should be. Similar production to Chubb and only a 7 months older with 3 years remaining on his relatively inexpensive deal.

If you could land a mid 1st+ a prospect or something would be nice.

I think this is a good value, especially in a league with deeper lineups like this one.
Team 1: 2012-2016
2013 Champion, 2012 Runner-Up

Team 2: 12 Team PPR - 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 R/W/T, 23 man rosters, est. 2016
2021 Champion, 2020 Runner-up
Tua, Purdy Geno, Carr
JT, Ekeler, Mostert, Javonte, Chuba, D. Harris, M. Carter, J. Hill, Spiller
Chase, AJB, Amon-Ra, Aiyuk, Olave, DJM, Dell
Andrews, McBride, Engram
IR(3): Chubb, M. Williams, Rodgers
Taxi(4): J. Palmer, Tolbert, T. Palmer
2024 Picks: 3, 4, 5

Team 3: 12 Team PPR, 6 pt Pass TD - 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 3 R/W/T, 28 man rosters, est. 2019
2021 Champion, 2022 Runner-up
Jackson, Love, Tannehill, Z. Wilson
Barkley, Mixon, Mostert, J. Wilson, CEH, Gaskin, J. Hill
J. Jefferson, Diggs, Waddle, Evans, Metcalf, Sutton, R. Moore, Slayton, Berrios, Carter, Dortch, Powell, Raymond
Kelce, Dissly, Hooper
2024 Picks: 1

Diggs is a top 10 dynasty WR, I would want someone safer back then Ekeler (who is likely undervalued I know) and Claypool.

I can't get behind this trade, Diggs should return more especially in a rebuild situation. I think you are valuing Ekeler a little too high.

I don't mind taking a chance on Claypool's upside, but I would have wanted a younger asset than Ekeler. I'd flip him as quickly as possible for any 1st. Unfortunately, I can't see anyone paying a mid-1st for Ekeler.

Ekeler should command more than a random first at this point. At least 1st + 2nd or an early-ish first. Not sure why you think people wouldn't pay a mid-first for him...his January ADP is 28 and KTC has him at 35. I'd gladly pay 1.05-1.08 for Ekeler in this year's draft as a contender (and I did pay Kupp + early 2nd for him earlier this year).
