So I won the championship, largely due to my depth. I am frankly surprised as I was really targeting 2021 as my first really competitive season but the rookies stepping up really made the difference. So what now?
The only thing I am debating is whether to try to consolidate and grab a top WR. The 2 I think could be attainable/in play are DK and Adams. I assume it would take something like Evans+DJM+? or Evans+Robinson+? or maybe I look to move Barkley straight up for one of those? Both teams are somewhat RB needy
Is it worth depleting my depth? Or, should I just sit tight barring a great opportunity?
Thanks for your thoughts. Happy 2021 everybody!

Wow!!! Not sure what the other teams look like in your league...BUT dang did you have every 1st in 2020...LOL!!!
With your roster if you really wanted another top WR I would be ok doing Barkley for Adams.... You also could use a new backup QB, I think that is your worst spot on roster

Nice build and congrats on the title. If you can grab a top wr, I would do that depending on price. I like the idea of Metcalf because it stays with your young build that could see you as a contender for years.

Re: Next step after winning
There are some other good teams but they are very shallow. I did sell out hard starting in 2018 for a 2020 draft class. Plus I got Andrews, Chark, Robinson and Hurst off waivers at various points. I think I have 13 of the top 24 picks in the 2020 rookie draft. Guys were way under-estimating the class in my league and most guys have preferred old vets over unproven rookies. They are obviously shifting their thinking.Tobin wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 9:57 am Wow!!! Not sure what the other teams look like in your league...BUT dang did you have every 1st in 2020...LOL!!!

I agree my backup QB is not great. I have inquired but I'm not willing to pay the prices people want. Our league over-values QB for some reason. Despite being a 1QB league in a great draft, Burrow went 1.06 and Tua 1.09 and Herbert 2.02. That also helped me grab a lot of those guys with 2nds. I'm hoping Stafford is allowed to move on or that they pick it up next year and I can package him for another guy.

I'd sit pat. This team is solid and poised to win again next year.
Don't trade Mike Evans. He played hurt for awhile and had no chemistry with Brady. If those two things improve next year, and I think they will, he'll be even better.
And don't trade Barkley until he is healthy and has a couple big games. At that point you won't want to move him.

Re: Next step after winning
Thanks for this. I was thinking if I could do something like Evans+Robinson for DK that made sense given that I'd be replacing an older guy (albeit still really good) and a guy with some risk due to likely new coach and UDFA status. Seemed like a good way to swap value from depreciating assets to a top asset if possible. But I see you point. And yeah I'd have a hard time moving Barkley unless it was DK+ something just given how hard RB are to get in my league and the significant work load Barkley will have.Pac_Eddy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 2:13 pm I'd sit pat. Is the Adams owner rebuilding? If so I think something like DJM, Higgins or Jeudy, and Ruggs or Shenault may interest him. If there is a rebuild team out there target one of their stud WRs. Short of that I would stay put...your WRs are borderline elite and ascending.

Adams owner is not rebuilding but is pretty shallow. DK owner just joined the league and not sure of his plan but he is very weak to RB and has DK, Godwin and Sutton but his next best WR is James Washington or Hardman. So I see him as a more accessible target than Adams.joeday wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 7:45 pm Is the Adams owner rebuilding? Re: Next step after winning
Probably worth asking. Owner has historically been a little tough to deal with. He was a playoff team this year so not rebuilding. I'm guessing I'll have to give up a RB to get it done though throwing a bunch of my young WR at him could tempt him, though his young WR Talent is solid. I'd say DK owner is still most likely to deal as he took over an orphan that has very little depth.joeday wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 8:38 pmHow bout Tyreek?TimeWillTell wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 8:33 pmAdams owner is not rebuilding but is pretty shallow. Do not add to Evans to get DK as Evans at least is equal to Metcalf, I would not add a DJM or anyone of that level

While I love Evans, I do not agree in this case simply due to age difference. But, what is a reasonable add is very much the question. Though I'd rather not move Evans anyways.
