Cut Which 2? RB & WR

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Cut Which 2? RB & WR

Postby DLF3000 » Tue Dec 29, 2020 2:15 pm

Need to cut down to legal rosters (clear IR spot) by the actual Super Bowl. Thoughts on which 1 non-taxi RB and 1 non-taxi WR to cut?

WR: Leaning C Johnson JAX or A Brown TBB. Since it's dynasty, I'm actually leaning towards cutting Brown due to his age and being third/fourth banana - or maybe trade Brown for a 3rd or 4th at best.

RB: Here's where I'm struggling. I like all my non-taxi RBs (ignore McFarland and Dallas for cut purposes please), so it's tough - leaning Snell, Perine, Mostert, Wilson or Edwards. Not thrilled cutting any of them, but one has to go.

Which WR and RB would you cut and why? Thanks all, appreciate it

Brown - I really like Johnson's potential and have zero interest in holding Brown outside of being able to trade him for a pick long term.

Mostert - probably not a popular opinion, but he can't stay on the field and he is far from young. I would again try to trade him, but would have no issues cutting ties due to multiple factors. All that being said, I think Wilson makes sense too if you would rather hold and hope for another year with Mostert. Wilson will likely never be "the guy" anywhere despite a solid skill set.

Yeah, age and injuries and Wilson balling out have me thinking Mostert's a cut option. Wilson isn't the picture of health either but he's looked a lot better than I expected - a few weeks back, was sure I'd cut either Edwards or Wilson at RB. Not so much anymore.

And yep, Brown was just a mid-season depth FA pickup with all my WR injuries. Started a few times for me, but didn't imagine keeping him past this year's 'ship run. Almost worked, but ran into a Kamara-Adams buzzsaw. :problem:
