trade Kelce for 1.4 (SF)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Postby YourAverageFan » Wed Dec 16, 2020 8:05 am

For a 12 team superflex .5ppr league. There is an offer of 1.4 and a 2nd. My team is decent but didn't make the playoffs this year. Just jumping into SF and am not sure on values for draft picks.

Players I have include:

Barkley
Cooper
M Brown
Evans
Antonio Brown
OBJ
Jeudy
Green
Kelce
Goedert
Matt Ryan
Wentz
D Lock
Newton
Dalton

Edit: Just notced there is a forum for Superflex. I will direct future questions there

You have a sold build but need QB help, unfortunately the 1.04 will not help there most likely. I would hold as currently constructed.

No need to direct questions to the SF forum. I don't think its as active as here, and your questions/posts certainly fit fine with this forum.

The question about trading Kelce comes down to, do you think you have a chance at competing next year? If the answer is no, I think you have to move Kelce. You have Goedert who should hopefully take a nice jump next year.

Looking at your team:
QB:
Matt Ryan, Wentz, D Lock, Newton, Dalton

I would definitely want to get a young QB in this draft. the 1.04 will let you do that.

WR:
Cooper, M Brown, Evans, Antonio Brown, OBJ, Jeudy, Green

A little on the older side here for a rebulid. But I would hold onto Cooper, Evans, Jeudy, and OBJ at this point. If you want you could probably sell all but Jeudy if you really want to blow things up.

RB:
Jacobs, Barkley

Looks solid. Obviously would want some more RBs here

Overall:
A team that is probably too bad to win the championship but too good to get early round picks. I'm more likely to try tearing it down and rebuilding from the ground out. the 2021 draft class has some good looking QBs and WRs. RBs may be a little short but rebuilding you want to go with QBs and WRs.

What draft picks do you have? I think that you need help at qb and will miss out with Lawerence and Fields being gone by the 4th pick. So that leads to a top rb or wr fall into your lap with the 4th pick. Add in your 1st rd pick. And your core will be solid. You need Lock to take the next step, Wentz to rebound....somewhere and Ryan to have another decent year and your team could compete.

Thanks for the advice. I hold the 1.5. I could try to package a couple picks to move up though it would be hard to get someone to move out of 1.1 or 1.2.

I did get the offer to a 21 1st and 22 1st for Kelce and my 22 2nd. I am assuming that is a little better.

Good thoughts here. I do feel that my team needs a bit of a rebuild. I do have a decent team, but I have had a few tough playoff losses these past years in my championship window with a better team than I have now (Had DJ and Bell when they were in prime) This may be the best time for me to trade Kelce and to try to get younger. Is that decent value though for him (he would do a 1.4 and 22 1st for Kelce and 22 2nd).

I’d hold off on those offers. There are six reasonable QBs in the draft, depending on landing spots. U will def have a shot at one of them with 1.5. Or grab a highly rated WR prospect there in a SF draft
SF - PPR - 12t - start10
Notable Assets in Rebuild
QB: Mahomes - Levis - Rudolph
RB: K Mitchell - J McLaughlin - C Rodriguez - Z Evans
WR: AJB - M Pittman- R Doubs - E Moore - Shaheed - C Tillman- A Iosivas
TE: MAndrews - Kraft
'24: 1.1, 1.7, 2.1, 2.6, 2.10, 3.1, 3.10
‘25: 1 1st, 2 2nds, 2 3rds

2nd year DFF
SF - PPR - 12t - start10
QB: TLaw - Purdy - Goff
RB: Chubb - D Montgomery - D Singletary - A Mattison - K Miller - J Hill
WR: CeeDee - Aiyuk - Rice - Godwin - J Reed - E Moore
TE: Kittle - Kincaid - Chig
picks: 1.09, 2.11

I don't think the value is there. Kelce is impossible to replace in a lineup and offers a massive positional advantage. The guy is literally a WR1 in your TE slot. Again, your QB's are shaky, but I think you could contend next year, so moving Kelce really hurts your build and a draft pick is never a guaranteed hit.

Keep Kelce. When Saquon comes back next year and you snag a good player at 1.05, you'll be competitive. Kelce is on one of the top 2 teams in all 7 of my leagues..... that's not a coincidence. I'd want 2 1sts and a good young prospect like Diontae/THiggins range.

I would also move Kelce for Andrews/1st/2nd as an alternative.

Last year I gave up, a lot for Kelce (1st was 1.09, D Johnson (pitt) and D Guice) but is was a SF w TE premium....and this year so far through 14 weeks I'm 139-15, even with horrible RB's....and have the full season locked up.....Kelce is huge...so if you are going to give him up get a premium.....

Given your build I'd make the move then try to trade Matt Ryan for some more picks.

I don't think you're winning with that QB group.

Goedert as your #2 makes the hit easier as he should be the clear TE 1 next year in Philly.

QB - Dak, Brissett, Purdy
RB - Najee, Swift, J.Robinson, D.Henderson, McKinnon,
WR - M.Thomas, D.Hop, DJ Moore, Miller, G.Davis, MVS
TE - Kittle, Gesicki, Hockenson
Picks: 2023 - 1, 2, 2, 3, 4

Young Newts - 14 team .25 ppr Superflex, qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, te, wr/rb, OP
QB - Allen, Wilson, Cousins
RB - Chubb, L.Bell, Ingram, K.Johnson, Mack, T.Coleman
WR - M.Thomas, OBJ, Woods, Moore, Godwin, R.Anderson
