The james robinson debate

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Tough break for Robinson owners. I think he will still get touches, but 1st round draft capital versus undrafted...

For every Arian Foster there are 10 Philip Lindays

If you had a chance to cash out when some dynasty sites right now today have this guy ranked 34th overall in front of players like Chubb, Lamb and Gibson..

Well you do that all day long IMO

Don't worry about it. I'd guess just about everyone here has over invested in an UDFA or late round pick RB and watched them be replaced. Just don't get suckered into making the same mistake twice. My mistake back in the day was trading Keenan Allen for Thomas Rawls and Jeremy Hill :wall:

It's definitely not over for Robinson, Chris Carson has held Rashad Penny off for a long time (though there has been some injuries). So I could see a scenario where both players carrying real value, kind of like D'Angelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart back in the day.

But when I pick players like Gardner Minshew or Allen Hurns up I'm definitely trying to flip them for what amounts to a double, rather than hold and hope I found a home run.

Looking at the first message in this thread, I wonder how many JRob owners know they'll never see an offer close to this now. I hope everyone sold their JRob shares while they could.

The good news for those who didn't trade JRob is he'll still have some value. He'll get some carries and at least initially have a decent role in the offense. He won't have any significant trade value comparable to two 1sts, but you'll get some flex play out of him.

I wish I had the 1.07 this year would have been sweet. And probably on review 2022 late.

I'm taking a lot of stick for it. Depending how our rookie draft goes I may dismantle my team if I'm forced into taking qb qb rb at 1.04-1.06.

I was building up to have a pop this year but that jrob news compound with bengals taking chase (I have boyd) has taken a hammer to my sack and smashed my eggs.

Yeah man, dynasty is hard as hell to navigate through for real. I don't think it was crazy to take your shot with Robinson or Boyd. Unfortunately you got hit with some bad luck having both assets unexpectedly depreciate so quickly.

Now would actually be a good time to put some offers in for JRob. Maybe the owner will be shocked and sell low. JRob can still probably get a RB3 (flex) season with RB2 upside. Will be interesting to see some trades for JRob over the next week.

Maybe I was out a year early on Boyd. I didn’t think he would come close to repeating his target share but he did pretty decent last year

I also sold Waller with this thinking... can’t win em all ;)
