I’ve actually just acquired Mixon in a trade in one of my rebuilds in a 12 team SF PPR.

Sent: Josh Jacobs + Alex Smith + Golden Tate

Received: Joe Mixon + Kenny Golladay + Darnell Mooney + late 21 third

This was with a playoff contender who just lost their 2nd QB to injury, Mixon to IR and Kenny G’s health questionable. I’m not mad about Mixon so might try to flip him in the offseason.

However it does show how some people view him and even with all the question marks surrounding him, he could be an intriguing buy low.

It's a shame that Burrow got hurt because he was on pace to throw for 4500 yards and had he finished around there the offseason breakout hype for the Bengals offense and Burrow/Mixon would have been unreal. Probably would have had yet another chance to get out of Mixon at that point at top 10 startup value despite the guy consistently underperforming that.

I'm not sure how things will go with Burrow's injury, and if people will still be at all bullish on Cincy in the offseason with him coming off such a major injury.

Mixon is a superb talent, he is on an offense that is (theoretically) trending up, and he just signed a contract that should keep in him a workhorse role during his prime and tied to Joe Burrow. I’d only sell for a big return, which is tough to get right now.

Like another poster mentioned, if you can get him for Carson and an early 2nd- I thin that is a smash deal to acquire him.

Even if you don’t love him, his value will go up in the off-season because he’s a talented young workhorse on an attractive contract and he’s in a position where studs are scarce. I’d hold unless someone wants to overpay, and I’d buy for cheap if I can.

Mixon is infuriating to own, and I'm happy to finally be rid of him. Bonkers ceiling with a replacement-level floor, and he's given more floor than ceiling performances throughout most of his career. At least that's how it's felt while I've watched him stink it up in my starting lineup.

This here-Carson needs a long term deal tho

I too have Mixon in both of my dynasty leagues. I personally wouldn’t look to sell him until he strings a few dominant games together and you can get a very good return for him. The fact he signed an extension helps his dynasty value as well. And we all know how talented he is. Just needs to stay healthy.

Im a firm believer in dealing assets when their value is high, and when you feel they may have maxed out, which Mixon has not done yet. He still has much more in him.

Couldn’t agree more.

Some great takes here, most of which I agree with. My simple take is this: I would definitely lean to hold and offload when his value is not near rock bottom with IR/Burrow injury/owner frustration. However, if you can flip him into something better than your existing offers - and that something materially helps your bid for the ship this year - I’d be good with moving him. I unfortunately dont think you can count on him to materially contribute this year, so if you are a top contender, I’d be OK with moving him to help the push - but only if you get something more meaningful to your push. Good luck!

I only on him on two teams, (traded two shares away before the season) and I would sell for anything around mid-1st value but like others have said, there’s no one that will pay that price, so for me, I’m probably just holding for now and hoping next season brings his value up, so I can decide then to move him or hold.

I always try to trade my RBs once they sign a second contract. The list of RBs that underperform and get hurt once the second contract is signed is very long. Gurley, D.J., Freeman, Zeke, CMC (sorry), Mixon, etc. The only exception seems to be Derrick Henry.

Anyways I traded Mixon at the start of the season for Akers and Reagor. It has been a slow start for my rookies but they are scoring more than Mixon...

I'm holding for now unless I get an overpay to the current market value. I'll probably look to move him in the preseason next year.

I’m buying mixon not selling. Cinci finally appears headed in the right direction. Burrow injury is a setback but they will likely pour more assets into that o line now and I’ll gamble hoping they finally get it right. I still think mixon is 2nd tierish elite talent wise so I’ll take the big discount if I can get it.

I’ve had a few inquires, but I’m not willing to move him at what’s being offered in my league.

I also unloaded him at the deadline. Got an offer of CEH and 2.01 for mixon and a late 1st. Moving back a few picks was worth it to get a bit younger and healthier.
