This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Targeting Mclaurin

Postby Platt22 » Wed Nov 18, 2020 6:19 pm

10team, 1 QB, 1pt ppr team in sig. Team who has Burrow is very interested in Boyd. He wont budge on either of his rbs except Montgomery, but has decent wr with McLaurin, Golladay, Cooper and Moore.

My offer would be Boyd/21 1st(mid to late) for his Mclaurin? Keep/build depth or try for Mclaurin?

Both are really solid wr's, but I would lean McLaurin. Its a bit steep, but lock him up! Imagine if Washington gets a QB??

If I was a McLaurin owner I'd have to seriously consider that.

It is a very respectable offer for Terry, but as an owner I'd personally pass. He is a guy you'd need to grossly overpay to acquire imo. WR9 with no QB & he was solid his rookie year with poor QB play. If he ever got a solid QB he would probably elevate to top 5 WR production.

As much as I like Terry, I'd hold Boyd and the 1st. A mid-late 1st is a top 6-10 pick in that format and Boyd has been very productive, so I'd hold. If it were 2 random seconds I'd be in, but hold Boyd and the first here.

Boyd and Terry are VERY close for me. Boyd is only 1 year older and is tied to Burrow. I could see paying a little more for the upside Terry could bring but I am not sure Id want it to be a mid 1st.

I'm wondering why make this deal? It's not like Boyd is old, he is 1 year older than Terry McL. They have pretty similar stats on the season. To me the bigger draw is Boyd here with Burrow at qb. I can see if you like him more, but to give up a first to make the deal, no thanks, keep Boyd.
