Ahead of schedule. Make a move?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Ahead of schedule. Make a move?

Postby heydangle » Sun Nov 15, 2020 1:51 am

In a 16 team league. 6 make playoffs. I’m in the 6th spot ahead by a game and off to a big lead in week 10. I have 4 1sts next year (2 from playoff teams, one is currently the 1.01 and another is 1.03) I’ve pretty much decided the high picks are off the table. Would you trade the two later firsts for an Aaron Jones or Derrick Henry (2 guys on the block) target another player or keep the picks. Any chance anybody bites on the two later firsts? Or would you sell a player like CEH?

Starters this week (start 9)

Wentz
Hines
James Robinson
Cooper Kupp
Mclaurin
Pittman
Reagor
Everett
Hunter Henry (TE ppr is 1.5)

Key bench players:
Shenault
Lamb
CEH
Akers

Jones has big question marks after this year. You are probably better with Henry out of the two.

Depending on the other 5 contenders - I might be keeping the 1sts though.

I wouldn't be sell off picks to make a run this year to be honest. I think you have enough issues on your roster that it could be quite high variance come playoff time. Wentz is up and down, I don't think your RBs are strong and deep enough to be a legit powerhouse, your TEs are only okay and you are reliant on rookie WRs to give consistent production.

Please don't take that as negative, as I very much like the squad and the direction it is heading in, I just think holding and being patient is the course while your team continues to round into shape. It might be worth looking to pair the late 1sts with some of your older and/or less stable long term assets to try and get underperforming or injured studs. See if you can move Kupp or Hines plus a 1st for a guy 25 or under who can be a star next season when I think you'll be ready to make a real run. Maybe a Miles Sanders or Calvin Ridley. Maybe see if the Kittle owner is a contender looking for immediate help. Things like that.

I would probably trade CEH for Jones or Henry as well.

No offense but your roster doesn’t doesn’t seem like it would have a chance. Please keep the picks. With the lates you could grab Lawrence or Fields.

With your build, hold the picks and hope for the best this year and keep building with the picks. Maybe you go on a run but either way, the picks will gain value in the offseason and/or are the way to go for your build in my opinion.

It was earlier in the year but someone had offered me Higgins for CEH. Probably too late now. Only need to start 1 RB though
