What would you need to move Watson in SF?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What would you need to move Watson in SF?

Postby frae » Wed Nov 11, 2020 9:53 am

I am just outside the playoffs and not really sold on my team this year. One of the clear contenders asked me about Watson. It is a SF ppr league. My current QB's are Dak, Watson, M Ryan, D Brees, and N Mullens. He offered George Kittle and asked what else he would need to add to that to get Watson. It is TE premium scoring and my current TE's are Hooper and J Cook.

Not sure what he will go for but would Watson for Kittle and Jeudy be a good move for me? Should I be asking for Kittle, Jeudy and the early 2nd he owns? I have tried to trade Ryan or Brees to people but no one has wanted to pay anything for them lately. I don't mind just holding Watson, but wanted to hear some views. Thanks.

EDIT - 12 team league and ppr, 1.5 for TE.

How many teams? That will have a big influence on the value of QBs in SF.

Additionally unless its an overpay i'd rather keep watson and move your other 3 QBs (Mullens, Brees, Ryan).

What QBs does he have?

I'd go Kittle and Juedy or a 2021 first. Seems reasonable. But then you're really relying on Mullens getting a starting job and Ryan keeping his. Unless you're getting a QB back, I'd be hesitant to move Watson for kittle+

Not sure he would go for it, but does Matt Ryan for Jeudy sound like a reasonable counter to his Watson interest?

His qb situation is really bad. Kyle Allen, Sam Darnold, Joe Flacco, Alex Smith, Case Keenum, Tyrod Taylor, and RG3.

Well crazy thought, what about offering him Brees and Ryan for Kittle (you likely have to add a little something here). What TEs does he (and you) have?

Also, Ryan for Jeudy seems reasonable.

Kittle + Jeudy + a 1st does not seem like an outrageous ask for me in SF for one of the top QB's. Premium makes it closer, but Watson is a huge asset. You may have to add a bit, but I would not let Watson go without getting a haul back, especially if you are not getting a QB in the deal.

I pretty much do not want to move guys like Watson, Murray, Burrow, etc. in SF. But, if you must, I think Kittle + Jeudy + a 1st is not a terrible offer, especially in TEP. Still, I'd probably want to hold Watson and build around him unless someone just wants to massively, massively overpay.

Thanks guys he didn't want Ryan for Jeudy and another owner didn't want to flip Gallup for Brees so still stuck with qb depth and no one really wanting to pay a decent price on Ryan or Brees. I don't want to trade Watson either as I love being able to just go Dak and Watson every week next year. I would really prefer to flip Brees for a reasonable asset but a late 2nd just seems too weak to me. Oh well maybe I sneak in the playoffs and my Watson and Ryan duo upsets someone that wouldn't trade with me. Thanks guys for the feedback.
