Metcalf Trade

I’m in a 10 team league and am currently in last place, due to bad luck in being outscored and injuries. I just got a trade offer for DK Metcalf, who I’m extremely high on, which would get me Justin Jefferson, Tee Higgins, and 2021 mid-late 1st and a 2022 1st. I’m thinking about pulling the trigger, but Metcalf is such a huge piece that I’m second guessing myself. Thoughts?

Certainly a good haul for DK. On one hand, getting that haul could certainly help you rebuild, on the other hand DK has a unique value currently as both being great for a competitive team and a rebuilding team due to his youth. I think it truly depends on your team. If you have just been unlucky as you say, I'd be more inclinded to keep DK. If you actually have several holes that need to be filled, I think i'd be more interested in making the move. Could you post your team, scoring, and starting positions?

I am very high on Higgins and Jefferson but I am not sure that’s a good trade! I would need an early 1st for DK. You don’t improve massively ur starting lineup. You need to upgrade RB which you can do with your early draft pick next year (unless you traded it). This year has been rough with Godwin out but you have wr with potential for next year!

Man... that is quite the haul. That's a tough. DK is probably the top dog along to Adams and AJB....Yeah Like Gpaok Said I'd need an early first. Now that I see your picks... I'd Hold. From what I understand this is a good WR class and you have some nice darts with those seconds.

So I'm not sure about the "unlucky" component to your team.
You definitely got QB all set with Murray,
RB you have cook as your clear cut RB1 and Dobbins as good potential. Less sure about Henderson's longterm value, I think Akers cuts into his work next year.
WR you have Metcalf and Godwin, certainly a good 1-2, then a couple of wrs with some serious pontential (Claypool, Reagor, Gallup)
TE you're set with Hock.

Given its a 10 teamer, you hold your first (i assume) and it has relatively small starting requirements, I think I'm okay with just holding and using your 1.01 on your favorite WR/RB, and then (if needed) making a move for a RB next year.

That being said, there is something to selling for profit. Certainly you acquired DK for far less than Higgins, Jefferson, and 2 firsts. You could cash out now for a great profit. I don't think I have a problem with either side of this trade, but I think I would keep DK. But I do want to point out, that just a couple weeks ago people were having Jefferson right up there with DK in top 5 dynasty WR discussion.

Definitely going for Etienne with 1.01 to bolster my RBs, the bad luck I’ve run into is more having a pretty good team that scores a lot but I’ve faced the top scoring team in 7 of 9 weeks where I’ve taken my losses. Plus I know guys like Kamara and McCaffrey could be had for a good amount of 1sts, and I also have 2 1sts in 2022 as well, so having 5 1sts between 21 and 22 would be nice for trade purposes. Metcalf still is the alpha dog to me though and I think I’m holding for now, but am still open to suggestions!

How are so many people saying not to make the trade? Jefferson is going to be a top 12 dynasty Wr in off-season start ups, yeah DK will be Wr 1 or 2 but Higgins also is already a top 15 or so dynasty WR. You can start Higgins and JJ with confidence next year in your Wr or flex slots. Then you grab 2 additional firsts ? This haul is 5 plus first in value. Take it.
