Keenan Allen or Joe Mixon as a contender

My main roster and lineup settings:

1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 3 flex (non SF) .5 ppr - 6 point TDs all around

Mahomes, Lock
Kamara, A. Jones, Mixon, D. Harris
Godwin, Ridley, Lamb, Higgins, Jefferson, Jeudy, Ruggs, Mike Williams
Jonnu Smith, Engram, Albert O

I can move Mixon for Allen + a little something on top.

I also have a possibility to move Mixon for JuJu+.

Or should I just keep holding Mixon?

Didn't need to look at the roster it's Allen for me by a decent amount.

Looking at roster, given you only have to start one rb and you have two great ones in kamara and Jones I want Allen, even with a 0.5 ppr. I also like him better long term. I think the juju option is interesting too, depending on how much of a discount you're getting on juju. The only issue I have is that I don't know where juju will be next year.

I appreciate it. I'm a huge Allen fan and wanted to make sure I was not letting that cloud my vision.

I also like your point of view and read your responses on tons of posts, good stuff!

Full disclosure, I'm a huge Allen fan. Though I traded him away preseason with herbert as a rookie and Allen not locked up yet (I think that was the situation). A week ago I traded right back for him. His value improved for me with herbert doing so well and his contract being extended.

Always happy to provide my 2 cents. Love discussing most aspects of fantasy football.

You have a bit more depth at WR than RB so as much as I like Allen, I might hold Mixon if you believe in him, or try and get back a lesser RB along with Allen.

I’d hold mixon unless you get a bigger something with Allen in return.

I also love KA. But, losing Mixon makes you dangerously thin at RB. Can you get a moss type back with Allen for Mixon?

The Allen owner is thin at RB. He has Gurley and Cook. I dont think either are available.

This room is full of KA fans...I love him too, especially that he’s got that new contract and is tied to Herbert. But yeah you are thin at RB if you send Mixon out. The fact that Mixon has a 2nd contract gives you leverage though, knowing that he is in a up an coming offense and tied to Burrow makes his future clearer, so I’d wait for a deal that at least shot back 2nd or Gaskin, Moss type.

I know that positional scarcity is diminished a bit in a league where you only start 1 RB, but know a guy is getting 20 touches a game carries value.

Allen all day. Especially this year. I would be scared to start Mixon every week.

I own both and I think Mixon is still worth more, although their values have certainly gotten a lot closer since the start of the season. I don’t think it’d be some sort of egregious, team-killing blunder if you made the trade, but you’d be losing value and, as others have noted, it’d leave you dangerously thin at RB.

What kind of + do you think you could get in the JuJu deal?

I love Allen.
I also think Juju is on the upswing and has age on his side.

But - and I get the frustration with him - this would be selling Mixon at another lull in his value after the injury and bye week.
I really like the appeal of that Cincy offense going forward and into the future.

If you were all in for this year I would strongly consider the Allen trade - but I would probably hold out and keep Mixon unless I could get a startable RB in return as well. Good luck!

This exactly for me

I’d prefer Mixon here. RB are fragile and depth means so much to a contender at that spot, be it start 1 or 3. Thinking forward, what happens to Jones? What would Kamara become without Brees? Just thinking this year and beyond.

Mixon is maddening to own and start every week, and super hard to trade away for any good return. I had been shopping him since the offseason and was finally able to move him last week. Took months of sending offers to various owners who really could have used him for something to stick.

That said, give me Allen here, especially with your roster and starting requirements.
