Update

In light of my easy acquisition of Mac Jones and Ian Book, and the recent Aaron Rodgers news, I'd say my team is on an upswing at QB. Im still fascinated that nobody thinks that my WRs or RBs got better. Devante Parker is all but dead in the water, and I think Juju is a dynasty upgrade over Golladay.

Trades
-Mac Jones, Boyd, Anthony Miller for a 2022 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
-Godwin for Chark Jr and Pittman
-Book was a FA :wtf:

This is a tough one. I think you traded better values away and the Kyler piece hurts the most as he was a young cornerstone. That said, you have to move forward and not live in the past.

If I had this team, I would 100% be trying to move pieces for 2023 and 2022 picks (in that order) based on your team's timing. I'm selling Darnold, Ben, Chubb, Harris, Fournette, Boyd and Landry. Don't give them away, but def shop them.

I would build around Mac Jones, Sutton, JuJu and Pittman. It'll be painful this season and prob next but it'll set you on the best track IMO. I just don't see you winning with these pieces... maybe middle of the pack 4-6 range of 12. I think the guys who I listed above will be steeply on the decline by the time your squad is coming together.

Good luck. We all have made mistakes at times. Keep using this forum for advice before diving into some of your next moves.

In a weird sequence of events

I Flipped Anthony Miller for a 2022 2nd and 3rd (post Bears) which means I essentially got Mac Jones, and Boyd for a future 1st. I think thats a win.

Then I traded
-Big Ben, Fulgham and a 2022 4th for Amari Cooper and a 2022 3rd
-Chubb for Jacobs, Marvin Jones, Alex Collins, 2022 2nd and 3rd round picks
and then I used the 2 spare 2022 2nds (from Chubb and Miller trade) to obtain Mike Williams (LAC)
and the 3 spare 3rds (from Miller, Big Ben and Chubb trade) to obtain Tre Quan Smith

Overall I added 5 WRs to an already solid group (Sutton, Juju, Chark Jr., and Pittman), upgraded at QB (Big Ben to Mac), downgraded at RB, and gave up a 1st.

In a league that starts 12, depth was super important - as was evident by injuries to my WRs last year killing me. The champion last year won with Kirk Cousins and Phillip Rivers as their QBs. I ultimately am hoping that having young solid depth at WR and getting younger at QB2 will change my overall dynasty trajectory. I will keep everyone updated. Original post updated.

I think you over thought and got some trade fever. I too play in a 12 team league so I understand your point there but I don't really see the upside in all this even with Cooper. A huge portion of your roster being competitive is dependent on players who have failed to step up finally doing so. (Darnold, Smith, Williams etc)
Cavaliers 12 team standard, 1QB, 1RB, 1WR, 2WR/TE, 1flex
QB: J. Allen, S. Howell, Z.Wilson

WR: A.J. Brown, A. Cooper, J. Dotson, C. Ridley, E. Moore, W. Robinson, J. Meyers, T. Marshall,
TE: G. Kittle, J. Johnson, J. Woods, H. Henry
'23 1.10, 2.10, 3.10 '24 1, 2, 3
Recent Championships '19,'21,'22

Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends- 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex
QB: Mahomes, Purdy, Lance
RB: Pierce, Miller, K. Herbert, E. Hull
WR: Chase, Watson, Davis, JSN, Metchie, Pierce, V. Jefferson, Claypool, Thornton, Westbrook-Ikhine

Think you definitely over traded and made some pretty bad dynasty trades. I wouldn’t even say you roster now is a playoff roster. The only trade that was good was Big Ben for Cooper.

Advice: Stay patient and build slowly
The Other Woman Dynasty League - 12 Team PPR (QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 Flex)
QB: Herbert, Lance, Stafford
RB: Bijan, Hall, Cook, Chubb, Mattison
WR: Adams, Hill, Hopkins, Robinson
TE: Waller, Engram
-
You’re in this for Life - 12 Team 0.5 PPR
(QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, TE, 3 Flex)

QB: Fields, Young, Richardson, Smith
RB: Bijan, Gibbs, A. Jones
WR: Metcalf, JSN, Addison, Q. Johnston, Mingo, Rice
TE: Kincaid, Mayer, Gesicki
2024 Picks - (x3) 1sts
-
Dynasty Addiction - 12 Team PPR /SF (QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 Flex, SF)
QB: Lawrence, Fields
RB: Bijan, Dobbins, Etienne, Walker
WR: AJ Brown, Godwin, Bateman
TE: Kittle

Time will tell how sharp the eyes here are. I’m very intrigued by the consensus that starting 8 players from the 1st group is close enough to or better than starting 8 players from the 2nd group. I can look through the forums and gauge that the bolded grouping of players in the second group are widely regarded as better options than in the first.

1st group
Cook, Coleman, L. Miller, Sutton, Godwin, Golladay, Parker, Hamler, Grant, Sims, Proche and Cobb

2nd group
Jacobs, Fournette, Harris, Sutton, Cooper, Chark, Juju, Landry, Boyd, Pittman, M. Williams, Tre Quan, and Marvin Jones

The QBs are obviously a short term loss but a long term calculated risk and I’m erring on the side of trusting Bill Belichick and the entire Panthers organization.

I kind of want to take some fun side bets. Anybody in? :D

What I see is you trade known studs for dart throws. Trading mediocre or fading players for multiple upside potential type players is how I like to fill my bench but I don't do that with Kyler Murray or Delvin Cook. I am not a fan of either player but they are top tier and shouldn't be watered down for a multiple player trade of weaker talent. There are some smart additions here but I have to ask if you could not have added as much upside dart throw depth and still retained most if not all of your studs. I think you could have.

Dynasty Consensus Tiering comparison of your before and after roster

Start 1-2QB (SUPERFLEX)
Kyler Murray(Tier 1)—-> Sam Darnold (Tier 4)
Rodgers(Tier 3) —-> Mac Jones (Tier 4)
Brady (Tier 4) —-> Minshew (Tier 6)
ADD Ian Book (tier 7)

Breida(Tier 7) —-> R. Penny (SEA)(Tier 6)
DeA. Washington (tier ?)—-> D. Dallas (SEA) (Tier 7)
Scott (PHI) (Tier 7)
JJ Taylor (NE) (Tier ?)
ADD: A. Collins (SEA)(Tier 10) , S. Perine (CIN) (Tier 9)

Start 3-7WR
Godwin/Sutton(Tier 3,Tier 4)—-> Amari Cooper/Sutton(Tier 3,Tier 4)

De. Parker(Tier 6) —-> Juju(Tier 5)
Hamler(Tier 8) —-> Landry(Tier 6)
J. Grant (Tier 11) —-> Boyd (Tier 5)
C. Sims (Tier 10)—-> Mike Williams (LAC) (Tier 6)
J. Proche (Tier ?)—-> Pittman (tier 6)
Cobb (Tier 9)—-> Olszewski (Tier ?)
Zaccheus(Tier 11)
ADD: Marvin Jones(Tier 7), Tre Quan Smith (Tier 8)

Start 2-6 TE
Jarwin —-> Jarwin(Tier 4)
Gronk (tier 5) —-> Cox (Tier 6)

Traded Sony Michel for Tyrod Taylor to hold me over until Mac Jones takes over and also because the Panthers bye week is on week 13 and the Patriots bye is on week 14 which are both during my league's fantasy playoffs. If Im in the hunt, which I am betting I will be I will ride with Tyrod past week 12 (our trade deadline). If I am not in the hunt, I will seek to trade Tyrod to any contenders who have QB bye weeks during the playoffs (Cleveland, Tennessee, GB, Indy, Miami, and Philly) or in the final 2 weeks of the regular season (Kansas City, Arizona, LAC, and Denver) and recoup solid value then.
