Diggs/21 1st vs Thomas+

Postby fantasydem » Thu Nov 05, 2020 11:09 am

Hey guys, my friend has an offer and I was curious what you guys thought of it. Based strictly off value (12 team PPR), which side are you guys taking. He sends his Diggs & 21 1st (mid-late) for Thomas, Burton, Snell.

is it bad that it took me a minute to even remember Michael Thomas....anyway, i think it is a fair trade, for me I think i would prefer the Diggs side slightly just based upon the sh*tshow this season has been for MT
Team:
QB = Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, Andy Dalton
RB = Todd Gurley, Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara, Kareem Hunt, James Robinson Lemical Perine
WR = Michael Thomas, Stefon Diggs, Mike Evans, JuJu Smith-Schuster, AJ Brown, CeeDee Lamb, N'Keal Harry, Sammy Watkins,
TE = OJ Howard, Mark Andrews, Ian Thomas, Eric Ebron

Diggs + a 1st. Diggs is slightly younger and and this year for MT has been a train wreck. The 1st puts it over the top as Burton + Snell don't move the needle for me.

Diggs found a nice home.. with a young QB with some promise. I expect even better production and growth next year.

Thomas... man idk. Left a bad impression on me with all the drama..
And what’s happening with Brees next year? Some uncertainty..

Weird to say but I like Diggs and the 1st.

I see more and more responses on these forums (this post included) that seem more like non-dynasty talk. This is easily MT for me and I own both players (no player bias). So many comments about this year with MT in this post and others...

If you like Diggs/1st better for dynasty, that's fine. Everyone is entitled to their views, but I wouldn't base it on a half season of MT being injured, and a half season of Diggs being good, lol.

I mean.... MT pretty much won people their leagues last year (me included).

Diggs and 1st for me.
I don't have Thomas much ahead of Diggs in Dynasty. He's a very good WR, but his crazy numbers have been helped by being Brees' #1 target with no NFL caliber WR2 in the roster since Cooks was traded. Even if Brees is back next year, he has already visibly declined and won't be as good for Thomas going forward. But more likely I think he retires, and I see Thomas as more of a low-end WR1 with a less accurate QB like Jameis throwing to him. Even worse if it's Taysom Hill, you'll be seeing flashbacks to Demaryius Thomas being throttled by Tebow. There's an outside shot they trade for a guy like Darnold, but I think the QBs on the roster are the most likely starters next year.
Diggs is also a very good WR, and I like his situation better in 2021. I'd still take Thomas straight-up based on his history of production, but the gap isn't a 1st.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...
