Should I go all in this season?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Should I go all in this season?

Postby digger » Fri Oct 30, 2020 2:53 am

I’m 6-1 and top scorer. I’d not planned to seriously compete for another year or two. There is a 7-0 team who beat me although I’ve out scored them by a lot and the week they beat me I suffered with byes(both QBs out!)

Starting line up is

Qb Russell Wilson
Rb Jonathan Taylor
Rb David Montgomery
Wr Mike Evans
Wr Tyreek Hill
Flex Calvin Ridley
Flex DJ Moore
Superflex Justin Herbert
TE gronk or Jonnu Smith
K Prater
Dst browns or chargers

Rest of roster is in signature below. Should I go all in and try to maybe get an rb1 to replace monty?or stand pat and see how the season unfolds?
12 team Superflex 1/2 PPR (QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, 2RWT, 1SF, K, D)

QB: Justin Herbert
Superflex: Russ Wilson
RB1: Alvin Kamara
RB2: Jonathan Taylor
WR1: Tyreek Hill
WR2: Mike Evans
F1: Najee Harris
F2: Mike Williams
TE: Travis Kelce
K: Dicker
Dst: Jets

Bench
QBs: Daniel Jones, Davis Mills
RBs: joe Mixon, Brian Robinson, Rachaad White
WRs: DJ Moore, Jerry Jeudy, Calvin Ridley,
TEs: David Njoku, dalton Kincaid

Go for it, just be smart about it. If Evans can rebound and you have an opportunity to upgrade RB you have a great chance.

If your team stays healthy and Evans gets right, you could definitely make a run. An upgrade at RB epuld be huge, but likely cost too much to keep your core intact.

I think you should go for it but also, it doesn't look like you have any guys that lose value next year. That team can compete this year and in the future so you don't need to give up pieces for the future.
Team 1: 12 team, PPR
1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Flex

Mahomes, Lawrence
Najee, Swift, Javonte, Jamaal W, Murray
DK, DJM, Juju, Jameson, Gallup, Van
Pitts, Friermuth
1.01, 1.04, 1.11, 1.12, 3.10, 2 firsts next year

Team 2: 12 Team, SF TEP (1.5 PPR)
1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex, 1 SF

Mahomes, Burrow, Cousins, Rudolph
CEH, Swift, Gibson, Jacobs, Mattison, Scott, McFarland
DK, AJB, Ridley, McLaurin, Kupp, Landry, Mims, Hamler, Miller, Johnson, Robinson
Andrews, H. Henry, Sternberger, Alie-Cox, Herndon

Same as Team 2
Watson, Burrow, Lance, Z. Wilson
Pollard, Mattison
Chase, D. Smith, Boyd, Hardman, E. Moore, Cephus, A. Rodgers, Harry, Boykin, A. Tate, Miller
Hockenson, Thomas, Albert O, Njoku
3 additional firsts

Same as Team 2
TLaw, Burrow, Watson, Darnold
CEH, Gus, Cohen
Juju, Chark, Shenault, Boyd, Landry, Renfrow, Robinson,
Engram, Kmet, Firkser, Schultz, Arnold, Herndon
5 additional firsts

I think that it all comes down to cost for you. I'd rather suffer through Monty's boring volume numbers and have a deep talented wr core. If Russell and Herbert continue to post the big numbers you have a big advantage with those two. I'd be looking at the rebuilding teams and see what they have and start with them.

This team could definitely make a run for the ‘Ship this year but is very well set up to retain future value. I wouldn’t be giving up too much to improve, but would possibly see if there’s an upgrade to be had at RB by combining either Bell or Monty with a 2021 2nd and see what something like that could get you.

You certainly have a strong starting lineup. I wouldn't necessarily be looking to acquire a bunch of veterans for picks, as I think you'll struggle to meaningfully upgrade your starters but it can't hurt to explore what your draft picks can bring you back. See what players the bottom feeders may be looking to move.

Thanks everyone.

Looking at rosters kamara, mixon, Chubb and Carson are the rbs at teams who will be looking at rebuilds. I’d love to get kamara but expect his price will be too much. Carson’s owner only has one qb which would mean I could do a deal involving cam or jones?
