UPDATED: What to do with Mike Evans?

Mike Evans is so tough to trust and I’m considering shopping him. I could try to upgrade his WR spot on my roster but I’m also considering trying to get a package of Herbert and Tee Higgins for him. That would upgrade my backup QB and still add a solid young WR. My team is built to win now and I think I am set up for the long haul too. So, where do I go with Evans?

UPDATE:
Would you do this if trying to win this year as a priority but still be set up for the future?

Give:
Evans
Cooper
Luton (basically a throw in)

Get:
Herbert
Tee Higgins
Thielen

Evans is still a hold for me outside of two 1sts or equivalent value. This is a really tough time to be shopping him.

Agreed it’s a rough time. That’s why I doubted I could pair him with something to get an AJ Brown type return. Which made me think of going a different route and trying to get Herbert and Higgins. I’ve always liked Evans but his inconsistency has become so frustrating.

You have to hold him. Anyone trying to acquire him now will only low ball you.

Would you sell if Herbert and Higgins came back?

If you can land Herbert and Higgins in return for him, then yes, make the deal. His value is simply too low right now, he hasn't been healthy, the td's are saving him ( his stat line @Denver 2 cathes, 2 yards, 2 tds). If I were offered him I'd only pay up a low ball amount for him and the them adding AB (seems to be a Brady add) things could get worse before they get better there. Hold him.

I am sort of interested in acquiring Evans. I started with Jeudy as an offer for him and was asked to add something. Is Jeudy and a 2nd fair to pay and something you would accept as an Evans owner?

Nope. I’d have you add a 1st or a another prospect I believed in.

Evans is pretty untradeable right now. If you own him you aren't selling low, if you are buying you aren't wanting to pay full value,

Evans was great with Winston, but he needed a QB willing to chuck it up there and let him get it. I agree now is not the sell time. I got out before this season, but you’ll have to hold unless something like Herbert/Higgins is offered.

I'm not trading Evans, He's had a historic start to his career. He's an elite wide receiver with the potential to reach the Hall of Fame. It's been a frustrating year, He's injured and playing with a conservative quarterback. That quarterback is 43 years old, so he's not going to be a speed bump for long. When healthy Evans was still performing at a pretty high level with Brady.

I don't care much about my backup quarterback in a non-superflex league. I've seen nothing that makes me believe Higgins will be anywhere near Mike Evans. He's 27 years old, so he likely has 3+ elite years left.

I agree with the above. Evans is a hold right now.......value is too low.

I offered Evans and was rejected targeting the following players straight up... Lamb, Jeudy, Jefferson, Higgins, 1st/2nd. All were rejected. He’s clearly a hold for me.

Man reading this thread is giving me so many flashbacks of when the production dropped off for Dez/Demaryius/AJG. So many were convinced it was just a blip and they'd bounce back to 3 years of elite production in no time, as their value just kept falling and falling and falling.
