Time to Blow It Up?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Time to Blow It Up?

Postby davieglove34 » Mon Oct 26, 2020 7:28 am

Team in sig below:
Just been announced, OBJ tore his ACL and is out for the season. Carson is hurt and Evans has fallen off a cliff. Cooper might have a 3rd string QB now. Even with bringing up Justin Jefferson from taxi squad, is my season over and should I start selling pieces for the future?

Yes,
Build around Terry, P Williams, Fant, Jefferson and Josh Allen, Cooper could stay too, I wouldn’t want to sell while his value is too low.

Every RB should go, especially Conner as he is the most valuable.

I would build around: Allen, Cooper, McLaurin and Fant. Shop the rest, but only move for the right price and smart moves that help you long term. Retooling looks like the way to go here.

I think you have to start selling your older guys. In a 10-team, start 2-RB league, you will need better RBs to truly contend. I'd sell anyone (but Terry, Fant, and JA, and, of course, the rookies) now, or at least see what people would pay for them. If you get good offers I'd start moving them for picks and younger pieces. Maybe you can find a manager or two who is impatient with his rookies or 2nd-year guys.

Yea blow it up. Build around Allen, McLaurin, Cooper, Fant, Jefferson and Shenault. I'd still hold Evans as his value is going to be low. I'd try extremely hard to move OBJ before his value falls even further. If you can get something good for Conner or Carson do it, but you might be best waiting as people are likely more concerned about them being in contract years than they should be. I would expect both to sign 2 maybe 3 year contracts with their teams and maintain their job for the near future. Aaron Jones is going to demand a good $ in free agency and Jamaal looks to be capable this year. I think there's a decent chance that he's signed and takes over the main back duties next year as he's going to cost a lot less than Jones to keep. I don't really see anyone else gaining value maybe Njoku or Akins.
