Claypool or Keenan Allen offer

Postby fantasydem » Thu Oct 22, 2020 6:55 pm

*14 team, standard PPR* I came on here with an offer for Claypool (who is a very hot commodity in my league) of Gaskin & Boyd for him which I ultimately ended up declining. Now I have an offer of Keenan Allen straight up for him. My first thoughts is that this is a steal and Claypool hype is almost out of control but it still has me hesitant seeing how he has performed. I’m the number one team in the league right now, with my WRs being Kupp, DJM, Thielen, Landry, Slayton, Claypool. Should I make this move and take Allen?

Long term, Claypool could get the edge due to age, but I still think Allen is a borderline elite asset for a handful of years to come. Allen for me as a contender.

I think it's fair, but I also don't know that Keenan is really necessary for your roster given the other WRs you have. I'd probably hold.
Team 1: 2012-2016
2013 Champion, 2012 Runner-Up

Team 2: 12 Team PPR - 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 R/W/T, 23 man rosters, est. 2016

JT, Ekeler, Mostert, Javonte, Chuba, D. Harris, M. Carter, J. Hill, Spiller
Chase, AJB, Amon-Ra, Aiyuk, Olave, DJM, Dell
Andrews, McBride, Engram
IR(3): Chubb, M. Williams, Rodgers
Taxi(4): J. Palmer, Tolbert, T. Palmer
2024 Picks: 3, 4, 5

Team 3: 12 Team PPR, 6 pt Pass TD - 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 3 R/W/T, 28 man rosters, est. 2019

Claypool has looked very good the last couple of weeks, but this is still Allen.

I think you could really use KA for this year's push, I'd make the deal.

I'd take it. I think Claypool will sort of flame out down the stretch. By that I mean he'll be a volatile deep threat which I think is his role in the league. I can't see him remaining the goal line back forever.

I don't think Claypool hype is out of control. Whenever he's been given an opportunity he's been producing. He's in the top 3 of the rookie WRs with Lamb and Jefferson for me.

He's still been quite good without those 2 rushing TDs...I view that aspect of his usage as gravy. He also had a 3rd good game (prior to the blowup two weeks ago). He's fairly consistent, great measurables, huge upside. I'd be hesitant to move him unless I felt KA put me over the top, and I don't know that KA does put OP over the top.
