2-4... tear it down?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

2-4... tear it down?

Postby tominansky » Tue Oct 20, 2020 12:37 pm

2-4 and averaging 152/week which is 9th best out of 12. Top team is averaging 164/week so scoring is pretty close across the league. 3rd most points against.

What do I do with this squad? Obviously weak at RB and very strong with my starting WRs. I've let the league know I'm trying to trade a top WR for a younger player + a pick but not a lot of interest as a lot of people have young talent putting up numbers. Any recommendations on what to do with this team?

IF you are looking to retool, I would hold Murray, Taylor, Dobbins, Hill, Johnson, Hardman (pending return on either or both) and Jonnu and shop the rest. Now is probably peak time to move Adams and Hopkins based on age if you are looking to retool. Johnson and Hardman are intriguing and may bring in a solid return, but I would hold outside of an overpay. I think you have a solid build and would only shop your top end assets including Stafford in SF if you want to retool but I don't think it's necessary.

Sit on it for now. This looks like an unbeatable team in 2021. If you trade one of your top 2 WRs, you should get an early 1st+ in return otherwise I wouldn't do it. Your receivers aren't deep enough for you to not be getting a ready made replacement in return.

It's tough dropping to 2-4 and riding it out as I'm sure you know the feeling. I started 2-0, was leading the league in points and sent away my '21 1st for Diontae and Hardman which in hindsight was too early to be going all in for a run. Gone 0-4 since with some really close losses but my pick won't turn into Trevor by any means. I appreciate the reaffirmation that this squad can contend, just maybe not quite this year unless some breaks go my way 2nd half of the season. Cheers to turning this thing around!

100% agree with you here. Although it felt like this season might've been the year to make a run, the lack of RB depth is a killer. Surprising that the interest in Tyreek, Adams, Hopkins has been relatively low. I don't think anyone sees their team as one stud WR away from a 'ship quite yet. The rookie explosions have cost me a few matchups so maybe that's playing into it.

I would stand pat, let the season come to you... you have a solid core and there is no reason to blow it up at this point.

I'd wait another week or two. With a now healthy roster, if you win your next two week, get to .500 and see what happens. If you lose a few more then I'd look to move on from DHop / Adams and teams that are right there may pay / over pay for these studs to put them over the top.
