Moreno or Greene

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Moreno or Greene

Postby Rammer Jammer » Tue Aug 23, 2011 11:06 am

Which RB would you rather own in a PPR league? I know Moreno will catch a lot more balls. But I was wanting to get everyone's thoughts on these 2. Thanks

RB TRich, J Charles, M Ingram, E Lacy, J Franklin, L James, K Hunter, K Barner, R Helu
WR Julio, Fitz, R Cobb, P Harvin, J Blackmon, A Jeffery, M Floyd, TJ Graham
TE A Hernandez, G Olsen
K C Barth

DB M Barron, M Burnett, D McCourty, D Milliner, T Mathieu

I was high on both before last season but now not so much.

I'll take Greene though because I like his upside better since he has his chance this year to be the teams "bellcow" rusher.

Moreno is an injury risk and even Denver doesn't seem to be as high on him as they once were.

Horse a piece probably but I give slight edge to Greene.

Moreno. I think they'll have similar production because Moreno will get more receptions, Greene more TDs. I don't think Greene is a special of a talent and also not as young.

For this season and next, I like Shonn Greene...despite the fact it's a PPR league! I don't trust Denver and I'm not in love with Moreno...

I agree, SG is the lesser of 2 evils
Team 1: 10 Team, 4 Keeper League, Non-PPR
QB: Deshaun Watson
RB: Ezekiel Elliott, Leonard Fournette, Kareem Hunt
WR: Julio Jones, Dez Bryant
TE: Rob Gronkowski

I'll take Greene. In every PPR league I'm in, Michael Turner has been a solid starter who is plenty productive even though he only catches 1 pass per game.

I feel like Greene will be around more long term than Moreno.
12 Team PPR, QB 6points Pass TD, Start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1flex

QB: Justin Herbert, Sam Darnold
RB: Saquon Barkley, Rhamondre Stevenson, D'Andre Swift, Javonte Williams, Jamaal Williams, D'Onta Foreman
WR: DK Metcalf, Christian Watson, Nuk Hopkins, Keenan Allen, Brandon Aiyuk, Gabe Davis
TE: Greg Dulcich, Trey McBride, Jake Ferguson

I think Greene will be more productive but it's close. Thanks for your opinion on my post.

Depends on how many points per reception. Less than 1.5 and I'd for Greene. He doesn't have a troublesome injury history, plays for a team that will run the ball until they shove it in your throat, will be the main carrier (LT is dead, let's be realistic and McKnight not ready yet) and has shown glimpses of real talent. While Moreno is definitely talented too, I like him less. Injury prone, bad team who's behind a lot (and therefore throws the ball), got McGahee to vulture the TDs, etc. So you better have a big bonus from the PPR if you want him worth more than Greene. And Greene even catches the ball now :problem: (he got one reception on the first preseason game :D).
12 teams, non PPR

QB (1): Newton, Bradford
RB (2-4): Blount, Bryce Brown, Andre Brown, Dwyer, Steven Jackson, Reece, Spiller, Starks, Thomas
WR (4-6): Jon Baldwin, Boykin, A.J. Green, Vincent Jackson, Calvin Johnson, McCluster, Rice, Rod Streater
TE (1-3): Vernon Davis, Zach Miller

I am really high on Greene, I was okay with him last year and picked him up a couple places as a 3rd RB but now I feel that he will be a RB2 and has the possibility of being one of those weird RB1s that no one seems to know why he gets the point totals he does.

Moreno is also two years younger and only McGahee behind him. I like Greene to give up touches to the other THREE RBs there, while Moreno will have really on ly McGahee (almost 30 years old) to contend with. I like backs who can catch and play every down - I haven't seen 3rd-down/pass-catching ability from Greene, yet.

I'm with Misfit on this one, Moreno for me. It's close. Both are low end RB2s that I'd prefer as my RB3. It just seems there are more guys in NYJ that can compete for carries.

I would go with Moreno, since when he has been healthy he has really produced and I feel he has a higher upside.
Green is probably the safer option, but with a very limited ceiling.

Well i own Greene and I was offered Moreno for him. We start 2 flex spots so this would actually be my 4th RB. I have Charles & CJ2K starting at RB, then I have Forte at 1 Flex so Greene is in my 2nd flex spot right now.
