Giving preston williams for David Johnson?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Giving preston williams for David Johnson?

Postby nappy450 » Thu Oct 15, 2020 8:20 am

As the title says i've been asked to give up a young rising prospect for an aging RB. I'm not contending this year and I do need help at running back. I consider myself more of a talent evaluator/drafter. Trading has always been my weakest point (attached to a player I believed in before everybody, not really knowing the market for certain players). If I look at it objectively, i probably wont start Preston often if everyone is healthy and i would start DJ every week for at least this year and probably next.

For context the league is 12-team PPR, roster size is 32 keep 25. Start 1 QB/2 RB/2 WR/1 TE/2 flex

Roster is

QB- Matt Ryan, Jared Goff, Drew Lock
RB- Melvin Gordon, Phillip Lindsay, Tarik Cohen, AJ Dillon, Jeremy McNichols, Justice Hill, Dion Lewis
WR- Mike Evans, Keenan Allen, Odell Beckham, Ceedee Lamb, Courtland Sutton, Keelan Cole, Preston Williams, Gabriel Davis, Corey Davis, Tyrell Williams, Darnell Mooney, Quintez Cephus, Miles Boykin, Steven Sims, Jeff Smith, Isaiah Wright
TE- Evan Engram, Dallas Goedert, Harrison Bryant, Albert Okwuebunam

Thanks for your input

As a non-contender, I would easily hold Williams. Johnson looks done to me and his value will tank this offseason. Even with Johnson, you are not contending, so hold the younger/better long term asset here.

I would keep Williams, or use him or the other 20 WR's you have to go get a better RB, but I would not trade for Johnson. Speaking of RB need the texans are in need of Bell's services.

Williams. David Johnson is in grave danger now that he isn’t the pet project of BOB anymore

I respect somebody that can identify weaknesses like this, makes you a better owner.
