I agree I would be giving up “too much.”
Couple notes:
Barkley is my favorite player and this is the first time he has put a price on him.
Saying that I don’t want to overpay too much and think I’m off-season there is a chance the first gets more value once the slot is known.

Agreed. I think this is a fair price for Barkley, but not a good one. Hill + a top rookie pick this time next year probably still gets you Barkley.
But if Barkley is your favorite player no reason to go against yourself and say no. Part of dynasty is having fun and players you like is part of that. This price isn't egregious so feel free to take it.
In a SF league I'm rebuilding I paid Russ Wilson, Evans and a 2nd for Barkley and Reagor. Value is probably on the side I lost but I just wanted Barkley.
