Slayton for Henderson/Brown?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Slayton for Henderson/Brown?

Postby Lesman » Thu Oct 08, 2020 5:29 pm

My RBs are quite weak. I’ve got a offer for my Slayton + Alie-Cox for his Darrel Henderson + Malcolm Brown. I don’t think I want to give up both Slayton and Cox for a 2 committee backs/future handcuffs, but Slayton by himself for the Rams combo seems about right, which is what I plan to counter.

I still like Slayton’s potential and hate to get rid of him, but considering that I already have Akers, this seems to make sense.

What do you guys think?
12 team standard (start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 2DL, 2LB, 2DB)
QB: TLaw, Watson
RB: ETN, Bijan, A. Jones, AJ Dillon, Charbs, Rochon
WR: AJ Brown, ARSB, G Wilson, London, Pickens, Bateman, Mims
TE: Njoku, Kmet

I would hold Slayton here.

Those guys are terrible. Maybe if you are absolutely desperate at RB. Slayton is a definite hold.

I would pass. Akers will be coming back gunning for reps too.

Ah, makes more sense now. You could get the whole LAR backfield.

Talent-wise I still prefer Slayton; keep him if you see yourself rebuilding.

If you think you can eventually be a playoff team this year with your roster (as your non-RBs are pretty good), consider it, but I would ask for more back, like a pick or maybe low-end WR in return.

Yep, looking to lock up that job, with Henderson as bridge back for this year until Akers is ready, then he should slide in as a handcuff for the future. I sit at 1-3 right now, and lack of RB production is the main reason. Solidifying my RB2 spot would go along way to getting me in the playoffs. Unless Akers comes along quick, or Fournette somehow establishes a role, I don't see myself competing with these current backs.

However, with that said... I do agree with the consensus here that Slayton should be a solid hold. I see him as WR2 next year, while Henderson should just be a handcuff. With an aging roster, I will likely be looking at a minor rebuild late this year or at years end, if things don't fall in place this year. I can then deal my veteran WRs while they still have resale value for younger prospects & picks, while still having AJB & Slayton to build from.
