Trade for Carson?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade for Carson?

Postby newenglander09 » Tue Sep 29, 2020 4:35 pm

Team 1 in signature.

Thinking about offering my 2021 1st (should be late) for Carson straight up OR Offering Lazard+Cook+2nd for Carson.

Carson owner has a weak WR core. He also has Gurley so I could target him and pay a bit less.

Thoughts?
(Superflex, half ppr, TE Prem)
QB - Herbert, Murray, Lance
RB - R. Stevenson, Brian Robinson, Khalil Herbert
WR - G Wilson, C Olave, Pickens, Mooney, Jameson Williams, E Moore, Zay Jones,
TE - Irv Smith Jr, Dulcich, Likely, Bellinger, Parham, McBride

1QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex, 1 SF

I don’t think either offer would get accepted. Carson would take a 1st and at least a 2nd for me to move him and that’s probably not enough depending on my roster.

A 1st + Cooks may have a better shot.

Worth trying but I think Carson's value is higher than that. Aces if it gets accepted though.

Offered what will be a late first in 4 leagues I am a contender in, not one accepted.

Had lots of cool offers in return though. Crap like Diontae and a first for Carson and AJ Brown straight up.

If you want him it looks like people expect a premium right now

Tbh im surprised Carson even has 2021 1st value still. He's effectively a 1 year rental - it's pretty clear that Carson is not going to get a contract extension and may likely be elsewhere starting 2021. His situation reminds me of Carlos Hyde who operated essentially as an RB1 up until he didn't get an extension - and now he's become a journeyman RB who isn't worth more than a 3rd at best.

I would be really wary on buying Carson. He's injured right now and by the time he comes back, so will Rashaad Penny who Pete Carrol still likes (even if dynasty owners think he's dust). The seahawks have also completely changed their offensive philosophy and to expect the past offense - where Chris Carson had his career years - to happen again is unrealistic imo.

Imo, he's on a downward trajectory and could frankly turn into dust either later this year (if Penny gets touches and Carson remains injured) and likely in 2021 (since Seahawks have no intention of resigning him).
