Kenyan Drake Trade

This is for my team one. My team has been decimated by injuries, especially at RB. One of the teams in the league has already started selling off his vets, he just traded Kupp a couple of days ago to another owner, and he just sent me a trade offer involving Drake.

I would get Drake, and I send him a 2022 1st, 2022 2nd, Damien Harris, and Claypool. Seems pretty easily Drake to me, but this is his initial offer which makes me think I can probably counter and get him for even less.

So my question is, do I counter, or do I just take it as is? And if I do counter, what do I counter with?

Wow, your injuries are horrible!

That said, this is a big overpay for Drake to me. Drake is RB27 after 3 weeks, I know it's only 3 weeks, but it doesn't look good for him right now and he has no security in Arizona. I'd take a pass on that deal. Right now I don't think Drake is worth more than a late 1st.

That feels steep to me. Not quite as bad since the 1st is two years out, but I wouldn't want to add a 2nd AND Claypool

I would hold for that price. I'm still interested to see how Harris comes back. I don't think right now that price is awful, but come 2022, I think the 1st will be the much better asset.

I think Drake is worth a first to a contender. I would it pay more than that

Bro our teams are really similar and so many injuries. I also lost Barkley and traded him for Zeke. I might make that move if I were you but I would try and counter it for a lesser offer and go from there. I am also a 2019 Champion hoping to go back to back but this year is looking scary for us with all these injuries to all of our studs. Good luck!

I know it’s only 3 games but Drake has not looked good at all.
For that hall I would shoot higher.

I think that's too much to leverage. If he can take a 1st/Claypool straight up I would consider that. Drake has a lot of uncertainty surrounding his red zone role and free agency at the end of the year. But.... he is one of very few high usage starting running backs remaining. As a contender, you may have to pay that premium knowing it is a BAD long-term move.

Rough string of luck. Looking at it I wonder if Drake does much for your team this season, especially if Carson is out. I’d try to pull out Claypool or Harris and the 2nd.

Thanks all, I ended up sending a 2022 1st, 2nd, and Harris for Drake and a 3rd.

I probably should have mentioned that this is a salary cap/contract league, and Drake has a min salary contract. He’s much cheaper than all of the other RBs in his range and above him. That raises the cost of guys like him in this league. So while I agree with all of your suggestions in principal, I think it’s a fair ask on his part all things considered.

Hopefully it works out. Even with every one of my guys being injured I’m still 3-0 and in first place, and Drake is getting about 20 touches a game. So I’m willing to take on the risk here.
