Am I crazy for really, really wanting K. Murray?

Some here seem to think Murray isn’t in the highest of tiers, and maybe he’s not Russ, Mahomes, or Lamar, but I have him just behind them and think with another year of development he could reach their level... an I crazy?

I’m planning on offering Mixon to his owner to get Murray for my long term team, thoughts?

If you're talking about the team in your signature and it's a 10-team 1QB league, then yes offering Mixon for Murray straight up is crazy

Yes, it’s the team in my signature, where would you recommend I start if you say lower than Mixon? Deebo? Fuller? Sanders? I don’t think he’ll be moved by Fuller or Sanders.

First, I agree with you that Murray is/will be a top tier QB.

As for cost to get him. I've come to believe that the cost for a QB in a 1QB league is league experience dependent. I have a 1 QB league (team 1 in sig) that I tried for the last month to get a QB. I finally paid a kings ransom for Dak. Most of the people on this forum believe it was an overpay, but I can tell you I tried to get all the top QBs outside of Mahomes and Jackson and the costs were crazy. So my choice was to overpay or not have a top QB. This league is a very inexperienced league, and I think that plays into cost for a QB. Rodgers was available for a 1st round pick for an example. For reference I ended up at a 1st, 2nd and a couple 4th rounders. That was legit the best offer I could get someone to except. I got turned down on Wentz, a 1st and Tee Higgins for Murray FYI.

I will be in the minority in that I don't hate the deal or think it's a wild overpay to part with Mixon. Even in 1 QB, a really good one can make a difference. As one who has gotten stuck with Cousins, Ben, and guys like that before I appreciate getting your guy at that position.

My concern is what it does to you this season. With Barkley and Cohen done, you would really be thin at the position. I would have to have another deal in place to secure something decent at RB to make this work.

In my experience buying a QB in a 1QB league usually cost more than you would want to pay. In a 12 team league most teams have at least one good QB, I wouldnt want to pay a 1st for Kyler, Dak, etc but I also wouldnt sell for a 2nd. So in short Id say a 1st is about what you should expect to pay for one of the top QBs. Scoring also is a factor, is it 6 pt passing and rushing TDs? Or is it 4 pt passing and 6 pt rushing? All things to consider when looking at buying a QB. I do like Kyler and think between now and start of next season he will be a Top 5 dyno QB behind Mahomes, LJ, Russ,Dak

It is 6pts throwing/receiving/rushing “all ways “ for QBs too. He also has Josh Allen and the owners of Mahomes, LJ, Russ, Dak also want ransoms, but LJ and Dak prices are the most reasonable.

He says he’ll have to think about if he’d consider Montgomery or Deebo for Josh Allen. I also need to think about that bait and switch. I did my due diligence on Murray, not Allen. Where would we rank Allen in all of this? There can only be so many “top-5” QBs lol

That is an over the top response from him, but I'm not terribly surprised. Of course I wouldn't do it either, Mixon and two 1sts is a lot, but I agree with him logic (mentioning future hall of fame is going a bit far).

It's easy to say go get a top 5 QB but the people with the top 5 QBs know what they have and aren't trading them for some RB3. Allen is a good target if he is substantially cheaper!

Im likely very different than most, but in my experience unless Im lucky enough to have drafted a Mahomes, or Murray, then I dont target top QBs as much. I love them, they are great, but they are hard to acquire and I dont want to pay what it takes to get them in a 1 QB league. So give me guys like Big Ben/Brees/Brady cheap if Im competing, and give me guys like Stafford/Goff etc if Im not competing in current year.
