This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Offer officially sent...

Postby joeday » Tue Sep 15, 2020 9:30 am

I have been rebuilding for the last couple of years and made some moves and some solid draft picks. I am wondering if it is worth going for it this year?

Here is my team, with starters in bold:
QB -- Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold
RB -- Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Josh Jacobs, Joe Mixon, Zack Moss, Jalen Richard, Darrel Williams, Ryquell Armstead
WR -- JuJu Smith-Schuster, Amari Cooper, Robby Anderson, Hunter Renfrow, Dede Westbrook, Miles Boykin, DaeSean Hamilton
TE -- TJ Hockenson, Mike Gesicki
2021 Picks -- 1, 2, 2, 3, 4

So I was the third highest scoring team this week and I love my RBs and my top 2 WRs but I clearly have issues at QB and WR3 (and probably still TE). There is a team in total rebuild in the league and they have Brady and Ertz. He also has Boyd.

A) should I acquire these guys to go for it and B) if so, how much should I pay? I was thinking something like Darnold, Moss, TJH and a pick for Brady, Ertz, and Boyd. Good call? Bad call?

There really isn't much on the wire...I will probably put in for Scotty Miller.

He offered Tom Brady, Tyler Boyd, Zach Ertz, 2021 3 for Sam Darnold, Zack Moss, TJH, 2021 1

It is my 2021 1st. I think it would be mid but I've been rebuilding for 3 years so I'm a little nervous.

This would be my starting lineup:
QB -- Tom Brady
RB -- Josh Jacobs, Clyde Edwards-Helaire
WR -- JuJu Smith-Schuster, Amari Cooper, Tyler Boyd
TE -- Zach Ertz
FLEX -- Joe Mixon

Thinking about countering by telling him to keep his 3rd and swap in DJax.

Thoughts?

You better be offering a very high pick because that is a light offer.

Depends on what you would have to add. Do you know if the offer is close or what more is needed?

So I know he has no interest in Brady...he sold julio very cheap this off season so I think he would be fine moving Ertz...Boyd would probably be the hold up but I'm not sure

Given he's in total rebuild he'd probably rather have Darnold over Brady and sees Hock and Ertz pretty close, so just think Moss+what for boyd and make that offer. If his value for Boyd is too high and/or he wants more for Ertz then just try for one of them and see what happens.

If he's rebuilding I'd simply try for Brady / Ertz for one of your qb's (his choice) and TJH. I'm pretty high on TJH and not sure I'd want to send him off, but I think he would do this deal.

Im really torn on this offer for you, the only real piece I like that would help you to me is Boyd as your WR3 and to lose your 2021 1st for that...eh I dont know

With that said, to give ya thoughts on the trade I would offer:
Darnold, TJH, Moss 2021 2nd
for
Brady, Ertz, Boyd

Brady, Ertz vs Darnold, TJH are a was for me ....so Moss and 2021 2nd for Boyd is fair

You don't like the upgrade at starting QB (from Jones to Brady) and TE (from TJH to Ertz)?

I personally would stay put with your team and let the season play out a little more. You may find that Brady is cooked and Ertz has been usurped by Goeddert while TJH turns into Gronk Jr. and then wish You never made the trade. I think your team is fine as is
Qb: Hurts, geno Smith
Rb: JT, Gibbs, Montgomery, Roschon, Z. White, Ty Chandler
Wr: AJB, JJ, Chase, waddle, G Wilson
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Likely, Njoku

2024 1.01, 1.04, 1.05
10 team
9 players kept yearly
Non PPR
Not super flex
Start 1/1/2/1/2 flex
1 point per first down
All tds 6 points

I can see the upgrade here, but I'm not sure it see it after this season. I would hold. Time will catch up to Brady and that could happen sooner rather than later.
