CEH v 3 2021 1sts

Postby blemly » Fri Sep 11, 2020 9:31 pm

This is for Team 3 in sig, which is in a rebuild. I’ve got some decent pieces and 4 2021 1sts. CEH owner is one of the few teams that is easily worse than me and is pseudo-shopping CEH.

The price is firm and he only wants picks. 3 2021 1sts to be exact. The firsts I have are from last years runner-up (so 1.10-1.12 range), a middle of the pack team with some young talent (1.06-1.09 range) and a middling to poor team with a wildcard owner (could be the 1.02, but could also be as late as the 1.08).

This would kill my chances of the 1.01, but I’m considering it as nuts as it sounds. Thoughts? As always much appreciated.

CEH. Next years draft isn't as strong as this years, and is messed up with all the prospects not playing. CEH will probably be a top 3-5 startup pick. If he has a really good year, he could be going 1.01 is some leagues. I'd make this move all day. Give me CEH, he's as advertised, and is in that KC offense for 4-5 years minimum, barring things nobody wants to discuss, but are always a risk for any player.

I think I would get CEH, he will be in one of the top offenses for the next 5 years, hard to find a better situation. You can always try to get more 1sts later on, there's 12 new ones every year, getting your hands on a possible top 5 RB over the next 5 years is almost impossible.

Very close for me because of the college football landscape. In a normal year, easily the picks. This year...maybe CEH.

I think that’s what I’m struggling with the most. In a normal year I’m fine going for the 1.01 with my pick and hoping the rest are high enough that I can comfortably fill in some other gaps on my team. It’s not an awful team though so I probably score enough as is to keep myself out of the 1.01 conversation and with college football in its current position my 1sts could be more dart throws than normal.

To have your roster and then add 4 1st rd picks next year you can build some great depth with high end talent to build a "dynasty"
2015, 2017, 2022 Champ.
10 team, 6 pt all td, ppr, 1.5 te ppr. 30 man roster QB, SF, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, Flex (r/w/t), K, 3 IDP

Qb- Mahomes, Prudy, Baker
RB- S Barkley, Pollard, B Hall, K Herbert, D Foreman, R Johnson, Zeke, J Robinson, Z White, J Wilson(i.r.), J McKinnon, J Mason, J Hill
WR- J Jefferson, Deebo, DJ Moore, OBJ, S Moore, J Jennings, C Austin, Trey Palmer
TE- Andrews, Higbee, Dulchich, Ferguson, D Washington
IDP(3)- P Queen,D Perryman, J Jewell, J Campbell, N Dean (i.r.)
K- E McPherson, Butker

draft picks

It depends on the projected early pick. If it's top 2, that's huge in SF for 2021. However you think it could end up as late as 1.08, I'd easily trade 2 mid 2021 firsts and a late 21 first for CEH.

Chances are he won't hit on all those firsts, we rarely do, and that he doesn't end up with a difference maker like CEH. In next years class, with no top end RB talent like this years, and players taking the year off, I would rather go CEH and have one first then have 4 firsts. By next year, you could probably move CEH for more value than those 3rds would hold, and get a package of players better suited to building a dynasty than those 3 firsts would.

Depends on starting requirements. If it's something like 2 RB/2 WR/1 SF/1-2 flex then this deal would put you in contention right away. That being said are you ready to go all in?
I personally would probably take the deal and I'm somewhat lower on CEH than consensus. My reason is clear, the value of a championship this year outweighs the potential of you trading/taking better talent with those picks. I also think that you could flip CEH for at least 2 1sts or player equivalent by year's end and that's in a worst case scenario.

It’s 12-team PPR SF with QB, 2RB, 3WR, FLX, SF, TE. So weighed towards WR slightly with the 3WR requirement. Part of my struggle is CEH doesn’t make me competitive anyway. Probably just puts me in contention to make the playoffs since I’m thin at WR and QB either way.

But FF’s point earlier is right. I’m not stubborn enough to think I hit on 4 firsts, and even if I do hit on 2-3 it doesn’t mean that hit will make my team competitive in 2021. Leaning against trading for CEH, but the fact that I’m even considering it made it feel like a worthwhile topic to post.

Wentz should be a viable QB1 this year and Cousins should provide value out of the SF spot as he continued to be a top-15 QB with quite possibly the worst game script situation of any team in the league. With Stefanski gone and the CBs still weak, I could definitely see Cousins throwing closer to the 606 passes of 2018. Expecting a bigger year from him and Jimmy G as my two top LRQB targets who are being overlooked for guys like Cam Newton and Drew Lock.
This would give you 2 potential top-8 RBs and WRs. Some combination of Kirk/Campbell/Gesicki rounding out the lineup isn't ideal but there probably aren't many better cores than you have in a 12 teamer, right?

I think you are underrating your squad.
