I think this time next year you would want the package. I do believe CMAC loses touches. New coaching. New QB. I am also in the boat of trading at peak value for younger players I like. I would do this trade. I would then flip Evans though bc I think now is the time to sell him too. I did sell Evans this offseason for DJM and B. Edwards.

I prefer DJM straight up. Nice cherry on top with Edwards. Wish I had him in a league

To me... that's not a bad trade. Could you get more for CMC? Sure, but I think realistically this is the type of trade you can expect without going too deep.

Sending cmc for CEH and Evans

CMC for me. CEH would have to prove RB1 value before I’m comfortable making the trade, and even then not sure I’d do it.

Problem is, if CEH proves he's a RB1, then I don't think owners will be rushing out to add Evans to get CMC. This deal comes with the risk

If CMC is the overall RB1 and CEH is RB7-12 I would still expect Evans to be added. The only way that trade wouldn’t be fair is if CMC falls off a cliff or if CEH is top 5, both are huge ifs. I’d want more certainty

That’s because everyone knows it’s inflated. Barring a tremendous season I’d expect to be able to get this offer later if once somewhat proven. The only way you lose out is if CEH is as good as possible, but you still own CMC. The potential negative consequences of making the trade are much more severe, and in my opinion, much more likely than CEH performing well enough to make this trade a success.

I don't necessarily think CEH has to have a tremendous season. Miles Sanders had a fine season and it edging towards top 12 overall asset. If CEH has a 220 for 1000 yards rushing and 45/350 with 8 tds and looks good I'd think he will remain top 12 asset. Without more RBs on the roster I think this is actually a very likely scenario. In fact I think it's closer to floor than ceiling. That's a bit of a bold prediction but he is a 1st rounder, hand picked by the Chiefs and Reid in the most potent offense in the NFL. He will face so few 8 man boxes compared to most RBs. It's like a cheat code for him and his owners.

All that said CMC's numbers are out of this world and if you think he keeps it up I could see wanting a 1st on top of CEH and Evans

I disagree on that. If CEH is solid, he will remain just because of age and that offense. Not to mention I think there is going to be a built in excuse of "well they didn't even have a real offseason due to COVID" that is going to buoy the value of any rookie that underperforms expectations this year.

A contender should hold CMC and make another run at a title this season, but if you aren't a legit title contender, I would easily take the CEH and Evans side. The likelihood of a better offer coming is small.

If he’s just solid he will likely see himself fall outside of the top 10. Why is he insulated against being valued similar to JT or Miles Sanders? And if that’s the case, then Evans plus the number 12 asset is fair for the top overall player. I guess the question is, do you see it as more likely that CMC drops from the top 3, or CEH drops from the top 5 due to performance? If you’re confident in CEH it might be worth the gamble.

That’s why I said overreaction, but if you don’t think this likely makes it harder to trade for him, boosts or at least legitimizes his current value, we were watching different games.

On that team, in that offense, he showed skills to be an incredibly productive back...

that never crossed my mind . I was more just reinforcing my previous comment that CEH is still an unknown quantity, while CMC is a known quantity. CEH had a good game, I don't think this should change his value. He was expected to do well, that should have already been built into his value.

Yeahhh that risk is basically 0. I'd take this deal for CMC.
