Darrius Guice or 2021 1.09?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Darrius Guice or 2021 1.09?

Postby Pomi4 » Tue Jul 28, 2020 7:35 am

Is Guice worth 2021 1.09 pick?

I think both have risk...but can't deny Guice's talent IF healthy

Curious how you know the pick is 1.09 exactly, but I'll take the pick here. I'm not a Guice believer though.

So there are two "super teams" in our league and I have both of tbere picks. It would be for the later of the two. Just making an educated guess that one of the two makes the championship game.

1.09 all day, every day!

I know this thread isn't about Penny, but most people refer to him as a bust and wouldn't give up a late 2nd for him but the 1.09 for a guy who was taken a full round later in NFL drafts and has less NFL production can fetch the 1.09?

I like(d) Guice and Penny enough but recognize the obstacles rbs face when they don't/can't seize the moment early in their career.

Well, if you need the RB, go Guice. It's not like you'll have a chance at a really good RB that late in the 1st next year.

Look at the insane run throughout the early-mid first this year, it was insane. You're a lot more likely to be picking a non-RB at 1.09 next year if '20 rookie drafts are any indication.
35 Team Dyn PPR, 3 x Copy SF start 2TE Super Prem (TE 2 PPR, 8pt TD), 6 pt/non-TE TD, 1pt/20 yds pass (300 +3pt), 1pt/10 yds rush/rec (100 +3pt)

Start 12: 1QB 1SFLX 2RB 4WR 2TE 2FLX | 30 Active Roster, unlim Taxi, 3 IR/Out (+) | est. '21 | playoffs '21, '22

QB - J Allen, T Lawrence ...
RB - A Ekeler, S Barkley, J Cook, I Pacheco ...
WR - AJ Brown, C Ridley, G Pickens, C Sutton ...
TE - D Njoku, D Knox ...

I guess I'm on an island here, but I'll take Guice. RBs are hard to get in dynasty, and I think a healthy season from guice this year would vault him to 1.01-like value. You aren't getting any worthwhile RB at 1.09 in next year's draft.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

I’m on “Guice Island” with you, but then again, I’m one of the people who drafted him at 1.02 and have been holding ever since. Maybe I’m just being stubborn, but I’d at least like to see him play a few regular season games before I just write him off as a bust. He’s still only 23, and like you said, it only takes one season of RB1 production to make a couple fluky injuries seem like a distant memory. If he gets hurt again this year, though... oof. At that point, even I would have to buy into the injury prone narrative.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

I took him with the 1.02 also gents. This topic was a very tough call for me. Some of this comes down to build and value to me. If anyone is looking to cash out on Guice now, the 1.09 is about top value. I own and would hold Guice for that, but value wise its solid.

1.02 Guice drafter and truther here too, feels like group therapy in here lol

Like others and I have said, 1.09 isn't likely a great RB pick anyway, so once more into the breach with Guice!

Also agree this year is it though - he goes down this year and most of the remaining diehard fans and drafters will finally be out on Guice.

Would totally bum me out, but at some point you just gotta move on.
