Superflex, which side?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which side?

Lock, Slayton, 2.05, 3.04, 2021 2nd

Superflex, which side?

Postby Londondynasty » Fri Jul 10, 2020 4:06 am

Team 2.

I don't have a 1st this year. Just 2nd and 3rd. My team is in a weird place. Should be competitive but I want to do a mini rebuild at the same time, as it's getting a little old.

Offer is Josh Allen (qb), Guice and Corey Davis
For Lock, Slayton, 2020 2.05, 2020 3.04 and 2021 2nd.

Thoughts? As I want to do a mini rebuild whilst competing I don't particularly want to do consolidating offers, but considering it.

Cheers

Guice=Slayton
Corey Davis>3.04
I like Lock's upside but I think the gap between him and Allen is more than a couple of seconds

I think the value is on the Allen side

I think your team has one more run left in it if this year is played

Thanks. Do you agree my team is in a slightly strange position, re competing but not for long? That's why I term it a mini rebuild. I'm looking to have another go this year but dont want to give up too many future pieces as I dont want to do a complete overhaul next year. This is the 4th year of the league. I won it in the first year, and knocked out in the semis the other 2 years.

How many teams are in the league? This matters.

Without knowing how many teams are in the league, this is how I see it:
Allen >> Lock (And I like Lock)
Guice > 2.05 (I'm high on Guice this year)
Davis < 2021 2nd/3.04
Slayton doesn't bridge the gap for me between Allen/Lock

This is the Allen side for me. Your team looks like it could be competitive and I think Allen and Guice would help you compete more than Lock/Slayton and whoever you get at 2.05.

It's hard because of the uncertainty of this season

If we are assuming it's played:

I don't think these are too many pieces to give. You keep your 1sts.

That said: I'd strongly consider blowing it up if it doesn't pan out this year. At that point Hopkins and Adams will begin to lose value on count of age and Bell/Fournette/DJ could/will be out of starting jobs or at least have new rookie competition with draft capital

Guys like Kelce, Rodgers, Ben and Cam already have shortened windows and trade values limited by age

If you think it's cancelled:
I would honestly start to rebuild now and flip the older backs for value before the 2021 draft and free agency roll around. Maybe even dangle Hopkins/Adams out if you really think it isn't being played

BUT I would still take this because I think Allen can be flipped for more down the line

In a 10 team I just don't see your team competing, before or after the deal. Guice is the only one that is tricky to me, will he finally reach his potential? If he does it could be a big sell low. But overall I don't think it's a bad deal, I'm also much higher on Lock than Allen. It also depends on what you end up with from the picks and Slayton.

Ending up tweaking it slightly.

Final deal was:

Lock, slayton, 2020 2.05, 2021 2nd, 2021 3rd
Allen, Guice, Davis, JJAW.

Pretty happy with it. Good young QB, young high upside RB and 2 buy low, probably nothing WRs.
