Sell MT?

I am currently flip flopping back and forth on whether or not to sell Mikey T based on my current roster. I feel like i have a solid core with Barkley, Sanders, MT, and Ridley but am lacking in the WR3 and two FLEX positions. After landing Jefferson, Higgins, Pittman, and Dillon in the rookie draft I have some young talent that will more than likely need a year to be solid contributors. There are three teams already with multiple studs, that unless Pittman/Jefferson/NKeal/Rojo are significant contributors i feel like I am a year out on seriously competing.

I am thinking of testing the waters on moving MT for something in the likes of a young prospect or up and coming player (players like sutton, dobbins, CEH) plus multiple 2021 firsts. MT is a beast and would more than likely be a key contributor next year but it might be hard to pass up on the value he could bring this year in trade. I would appreciate any input/thoughts.

More than 2021 picks I'd try to dangle him for an overpay of two young solid WRs if you can swing it

I agree he is at peak value right now but should still be in line for an elite season and not be sold just to get rid of him

EDIT: Like the other poster said--would prefer to get a cheaper WR3 like Marvin Jones or even a guy like TY/AJG with more elite upside

You definitely could sell him, but I wouldn't feel at any point like you HAVE to take a deal. Thomas is a beast and will likely still remain a very good receiver for years, even if last year's numbers are unsustainable. I would lean on the side of keeping him. I think you're closer to having a legit team than not and wouldn't be looking to move on from him. I'd instead look at what pieces I can move to pick up a cheap WR3. Check out guys like Marvin Jones, Golden Tate, Jamison Crowder, etc. Guys who aren't sexy names but will give you more consistent production out of that lower slot for you. You're gonna be able to compete.

I would have seen what those picks for Jefferson, Pittman and Higgins could have returned for you as far as current production to help you compete now.

Putting Thomas on the block and seeing what comes in never hurts, but I would need a big offer with known assets to consider moving him.

The MT owner in my league just traded him a few days ago for Golladay, and 2 1sts. The league is Non SF as well and 12 team ppr, but we don't have the same starting requirements. Still though, something like that could potentially be enough to make me move him, but in your case, you have a roster that can compete for a championship. The only problem is cementing your WRs. I think you seek out two young WRs. Another idea I have is that you keep MT and acquire a solid contributor like Edelman or AJG who are relatively cheap and can act as a placeholder wr3 until Jefferson, Higgins, or whoever breaks out.

You should have traded your 2020 picks for a WR3 and depth. I'd move your 2021 picks for that. I'd move the first for a WR3. Someone like Woods, and I'd move your second for some RB depth someone like Mostert.

I'm holding him and then seeing where your team is mid season. If your falling out of it I'm putting notice out to the entire league that he is available to the highest bidder. I'd want a big package in return for him.
Also IF Brees retires after this season then who is the qb? If it's Hill I'd worry about MT's value dropping. If they resigned Winston his value should hold pretty well seeing MT doesn't lose points for ints.

Thanks for the feedback. I def like the idea of keeping MT and shopping for some supporting options. I have been in contact with most of the teams in the league with no luck. Apparently everyone thinks they will be competitive this year....but I’ll keep trying

I may be a bit late to the party here, but I find in every league there are 1-2 guys willing to overpay for someone like MT. I would try and get a young stud and a buy low/underrated kind of guy plus a pick, like Terry McLaurin + Robert Woods or Jarvis Landry and a first. the young guy makes sure you have stability for the future and you get a WR2 to throw in your third slot plus a pick for next year.
