First Time SF Start Up

Postby Triton85 » Tue Jun 30, 2020 8:47 pm

So just joined my first SF and it has a couple odd rules I’m not used too

SF
TE Prem
1/2 ppr
.5 points for rushing / Rec first downs

I was awarded the 1st overall and I’m torn on the pick. Mahomes I thought is a slam dunk, but with the first down points & .5 ppr, I’m wondering if Lamar & CMC have to be in consideration

Am I overthinking this? If not what are some thoughts on why you’d pick one of the others over mahomes

Mahomes or Jackson for me. The first down points are pretty interesting, but its still down to the two QBs for me. Slight edge to Jackson.

My gut says Mahomes because I’m concerned about Lamar being able to keep up that pace. But living in Baltimore it’d be awesome to have that rooting interest

How many teams? Mahomes or Barkley depending on that for me

Lamar equal to or even slightly better than Mahomes (in fantasy not real life) on a single year basis but I don't trust him as much long term.
That said: We play fantasy for fun and if having Lamar is that for you then go for it. If you are playing with a much higher priority to winning than "fun" then Mahomes is I think the better choice

12 team league, yea the long term viability of Lamar is my only hesitation

But those rushing yards and the 30 extra points per year for first downs is nice too

Ideally I Trade back but I don’t think anyone is too interested in that

Mahomes is the pick then IMO

You can't win a league in the first couple rounds but you can lose it (not that I think Lamar will but I would try to minimize risk)

Mahommes in a 12 teamer for me. More longevity, he still runs the ball, and the .5 ppr puts a little dampner on cmc

I'd take Mahomes hands down here. First longevity is a big key to me. CMC is a stud, but how long can he keep up that work load? LJax had a monster year fantasy wise because of running stats, he has improved as a passer, but can he get where he is even better. Mahomes stepped right in a was a top flight passer and he will only get more and more comfortable. So I'd say you easily, barring any freak accidents, have 12 years of high end play out of him.

In 12 team SF it has to be Mahomes. RB shelf life isn't very long so in about 2 years people will be talking about CMCs decline.

1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Flex

Mahomes, Lawrence
Najee, Swift, Javonte, Jamaal W, Murray
DK, DJM, Juju, Jameson, Gallup, Van
Pitts, Friermuth
1.01, 1.04, 1.11, 1.12, 3.10, 2 firsts next year

Team 2: 12 Team, SF TEP (1.5 PPR)
1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex, 1 SF

Mahomes, Burrow, Cousins, Rudolph
CEH, Swift, Gibson, Jacobs, Mattison, Scott, McFarland
DK, AJB, Ridley, McLaurin, Kupp, Landry, Mims, Hamler, Miller, Johnson, Robinson
Andrews, H. Henry, Sternberger, Alie-Cox, Herndon

Same as Team 2
Watson, Burrow, Lance, Z. Wilson
Pollard, Mattison
Chase, D. Smith, Boyd, Hardman, E. Moore, Cephus, A. Rodgers, Harry, Boykin, A. Tate, Miller
Hockenson, Thomas, Albert O, Njoku
3 additional firsts

Same as Team 2
TLaw, Burrow, Watson, Darnold
CEH, Gus, Cohen
Juju, Chark, Shenault, Boyd, Landry, Renfrow, Robinson,
Engram, Kmet, Firkser, Schultz, Arnold, Herndon
