Startup Grade/Trades

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Startup Grade/Trades

Postby throwaway1604 » Wed Jun 17, 2020 9:49 am

12 Team PPR Non SF 3WR
Wrapping up our startup but here is who I got with most of the draft done:

QB: Wilson, Darnold
RB: Taylor, Guice, Vaughn, D. Evans, J. Hill, D. Dallas
WR: MT, AJB, Lamb, Harry, Tate, Lazard, Duvernay
TE: Goeddert

Extra 2021 first, second

Definitely built a team more for 2021 and 2022. Do I move MT and get a RB + young upside WR? I feel like if either Guice or Vaughn break into top 24 I should be fine. RB is definitely my weakness though. What other follow up trades do you recommend?

I'd give myself a B- .... Could have done better building a 2020 team and probably should have went RB where I picked AJB or Lamb

Also, thanks for y'alls help throughout!

Loving your build long term! I would wait and see how your team comes out to start the season before making moves.

Looks pretty good, like you said, definitely built for a year or two out. Having the two firsts is nice. I'd hold MT for now, and go into the season and see how you do.

What did you give up to get the extra 1st / 2nd next year? Definitely built for the beyond this year, the extra picks will help with depth / starters, maybe even package both seconds for another 1st. You have the wr depth, need something besides JT, qb is fine and possibly a te upgrade.

I gave up an 8th rounder for a future first and a 10th rounder. Accepted pretty easily. The guy drafted a QB and I was still able to get Wilson a round later.

As far as addressing RB/TE, that's probably my first step

Is it start 2 RB? I would just look to acquire Antonio Gibson starting with a 2021 2nd+one of your bottom 3 WR. There's no need to have a surplus at a revolving door position, even if it feels a little risky.
I would also look to upgrade at TE only for the right price. Play the waivers for a TE2 with upside and maybe you'll find this year's Higbee.

Yes 2 RB start, 2 flex. I already made an offer of a 2nd and got declined (on Gibson). He was literally picked one spot before I selected

Also just added Packers TE Sternberger

I would ride it into the season. You have so much youth and questions right now I think you would be tinkering on blind guesses. Trust your draft and give it 4-6 weeks to shake out and really know what you need.

WR: A.J. Brown, A. Cooper, J. Dotson, C. Ridley, E. Moore, W. Robinson, J. Meyers, T. Marshall,
TE: G. Kittle, J. Johnson, J. Woods, H. Henry
'23 1.10, 2.10, 3.10 '24 1, 2, 3
Recent Championships '19,'21,'22

Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends- 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex

I kinda of like the team, would give you atleast a B or B+. I don't think you move MT unless you get an amazing offer. He can flourish with any QB, and image what he can do it they keep Winston there next year as a starter. RB is obviously your area of need but with JT there and 2 2021 firsts your outlook looks good. How many flex spots do you need? Right now you have 1 RB and 4 wrs I'm comfortable with either now or next year.

As far as trades. I think you stay put now. It's hard to trade immediately after a startup. Wait for the season to start and see what happens
