Which team is best?

Postby MFundercover » Sat Jun 13, 2020 10:41 pm

These are the consensus best teams in my league. 1qb, 12 team .5ppr Starters in bold

Team 1 -

QB: Watson, Allen
RB: Saquon, Sanders, A Jones, Mostert, Howard, J Williams, Harris, R Freeman
WR: Hopkins, Evans, Kupp, Metcalf, Mecole, G Tate, Reynolds, Isabella, St. Brown, A Tate, Cephus, Mooney, C Johnson
TE: Henry, Thomas, Njoku, Olsen, Everett

2021: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 round picks

Team 2 -

QB: Dak, Jones, P Walker
RB: CEH, Ekeler, Singletary, Swift, Kelley, Henderson, Scott, Snell, Samuels, Washington, Warren, Marshawn
WR: Godwin, Robinson, Deebo, Jeudy, Jefferson, Higgins, Kirk, Gallup, Claypool, Washington, Sims Jr., S Miller, Quez, Begelton
TE: Higbee, Irv, Griffin, Parham, Okwuegbunam

2021: 2, 4, 5 round picks

Team 3 -

QB: Jackson, Tannehill, Fitzpatrick, RG3, Haskins
RB: Elliot, Gordon, Akers, Lindsay, D Freeman, Breida, Pollard, Homer, J Jackson, B Hill, Ito Smith
WR: Thomas, Golladay, Allen,, Crowder, Fuller, Allison, J Gordon
TE: Waller, J Thomas, K Smith, Keene

2021: 4, 5 round picks

Personally, I think I have the best blend of youth, future assets, and win now players. Team 2 is loaded with upside and depth, but will need time to develop and doeant have any alpha tier studs. By then I will still be able to replenish with future picks and trading vets. Team 3 is top heavy and a big threat to win now, but has many diminishing assets.

Even with Akers and Crowder starting? He has me at QB, and a little at WR, but I beat him at rb by a solid margin and wreck him in the flex spots.

All 3 look good. Some have better long term upside than others. Going to come down to injuries.

Team 2 had best long-term value, team 3 likely best short term assuming no injuries

Just curious how you see team 3 as better short term than 1? He is very weak at flex. Team 1 led in points and all play win % last year and only widened the cap this offseason.

I’d prefer team one slightly to team 3 for this upcoming year, just because they have no depth at all. Although I think I’d prefer team 2 long term with that core of young guys that they have.
Team One:
10 Team Salary Cap League w/ IDP - Est. 2018
2018: Champions!
2019: Champions!!
2020: 2nd Place
.5 PPR/$200 budget
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 WR/TE, 1 K, 2 DL, 2 LB, 2 DB, 3 DL/LB/DB

QB - Mahomes, Cousins
RB - CMC, Carson, Drake, Mostert, Vaughn, Evans, Perine, Penny
WR - MT, Hopkins, Godwin, Woods, Miller, Campbell, Mims, Claypool
TE - Kittle, Goedert, Gesicki, Kmet
K - Gonzalez, Fairbairn, Boswell
DL - Buckner, Heyward, Hendrickson, Clark
LB - Leonard, Wagner, Roquan Smith, Singleton, Hewitt, Greenlaw
DB - John Johnson, Logan Ryan, Jordan Fuller, Wilson

2021 - 1.06, 1.09, 2.04, 4.05
2022 - None

Team Two:
DLF Advice Forum League
14 Team PPR SF/TE Premium (2PPR)
2020: 4th
1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1SF, 2Flex
QB - Allen, Mayfield, Carr, Fromm, Keenum
RB - Murray, AP, Jackson, Booker, Dallas, Snell, Royce Freeman, Armstead
WR - MT, Reagor, Beasley, Perriman, Reynolds, Jackson, Jeffery, G. Davis
TE - Kittle, Andrews, Graham, Fells

2021 - 1.05, 3.05, 4.05

That makes no sense lol. Flex isnt even close. Team 1 annihilates team 3 there. Frankly, Mostert would probably make his starting lineup every week. Top bench spots will play at least half the season in this league as flex allows positional coverage. Mostert >> what he has

I dont see how RB is even debateable. You can argue you like Zeke more than Saquon I guess. Sanders >> Melvin, Jones >> Whoever he plop in his flex.

Maybe you can look at Cam Akers and think long term, but he has no draft capital to fill in his holes. Even if you want to make the argument that Zeke and Melvin are better than Saquon and Sanders (not many would agree), look at the bottom of our rb rotations. I would much rather have Aaron Jones, Raheem Mostert, and all future picks than Cam Akers, Phillip Lindsay, and no future draft capital. It's a blowout honestly. Explain your side.

His future draft capital is depleted so it's all in on his rookies. With all of my capital in tact and a good young core, I think I'm fine long term. I can still probably turn Hopkins, Evans, and Jones in to future assets next offseason if needed, and keep a better team under 25 than his, and add youth then.

WR: Thomas, Golladay, Allen,, Crowder, Fuller, Allison, J Gordon
TE: Waller, J Thomas, K Smith, Keene

Here are the two teams.
QB:
Team 3: Jackson > Watson

RB:
Saquon = Zeke : On a single year basis they are even in my book. bigger fan of Dal offense than NYG
Gordon > Sanders : People forget that Gordon was RB1 until his holdout. He's not holding out, Denver is going to use him.
Akers > Jones : Jones is due for severe reduction in TDs and reduction in load. I believe akers takes over the LAR backfield

WR:
Thomas > Nuk : Thomas ahead of Nuk, maybe this becomes even if the arizona offense flows through Nuk, but I still have MT ahead
Allen = Evans : Allen will be fine with tyrod or herbert starting. Routinely underrated he does fine and just as well as evans
Golladay > Kupp : Stafford was on pace for a monster year last year prior to being injured. LAR establishes their running game, and lean on that more. Golladay lights it up
Crowder < Metcalf : I don't think I need to defend this one

TE:
Waller > Henry : Waller is in a prime location in Oakland, I think he doesn't put up the numbers he did last year, but Oakland TEs have been able to put up numbers for a while now.

Miles Sanders was a top 6 rb in the role he is likely to have for the entirety of 2020. Gordon plays for a worse offense, worse offensive line, is older, and is likely going to split more work with Lindsay than Sanders will with Scott. 91% of ECR has Sanders for 2020 so you are in an overwhelming minority.

All anybody wants to talk about with Jones is TD regression. But nobody mentions that he was the 2nd most effective fantasy running back per touch (behind CMC). He had the 2nd highest ypc against stacked boxes (behind Mostert). He has been the single most efficient running back inside the 10 yard line since he entered the league, and he is coming off an overall rb2 finish. We're talking about an elite talent at his prime age on a team committed to the run. Green Bay has shown interest in resigning him, so his lingering contract extension is an indication of their cap situation rather than Jones as a player. It's hard to see a one dimensional player like Dillon, who is a zero in the pass game take an overwhelming workload from Jones. 100% of ECR chooses Jones over Akers. Hot takes like this are a good way to lose your league. I would honestly bet 10 grand that Jones outscores Akers next season barring injury.

I don't know what you are slotting Kupp against Golladay. Trying to shift the goalposts to support your argument?

Evans = Golladay. Evans has a 91% rating over Allen, again you are posting hot takes.

Kupp and Allen are close, but I would choose Kupp.

DK >> Crowder or Fuller.

So WR may swing in his direction, but only slightly as MT is a powerhouse. Our 2 and 3s are about equal, and he gets crushed at wr4.

Literally 100% of people disagree with you about running back. You also neglect to recognize that Mostert is arguably a starter for him, he is out of draft capital, and my future 1st round picks will turn to young running backs. I have RB by a wide margin.

Flex is a blowout in my favor.

QB and TE are the least important positions. Lamar >> Watson, Waller and Henry are unlikely to have a major difference in scoring though I lean Waller too.

Team 1 -

QB: Watson, Allen
RB: Saquon, Sanders, A Jones, Mostert, Howard, J Williams, Harris, R Freeman
WR: Hopkins, Evans, Kupp, Metcalf, Mecole, G Tate, Reynolds, Isabella, St. Brown, A Tate, Cephus, Mooney, C Johnson
TE: Henry, Thomas, Njoku, Olsen, Everett

Team 3 -

QB: Jackson, Tannehill, Fitzpatrick, RG3, Haskins
RB: Elliot, Gordon, Akers, Lindsay, D Freeman, Breida, Pollard, Homer, J Jackson, B Hill, Ito Smith
WR: Thomas, Golladay, Allen,, Crowder, Fuller, Allison, J Gordon
TE: Waller, J Thomas, K Smith, Keene

Except you didn't. You shifted the lineups to favor your argument with the WRs. And I strongly disagree with your assessment of Jones vs Akers in redraft as 100% of ECR chooses Jones, when it's really a discussion of Jones, Mostert, and 2020 1st vs Akers and Lindsay. It's a BLOWOUT.

I was just discussing my opinion as well. Try to not be so sensitive.
