Guice vs Sony (Poll)

Postby PhillySpecial » Wed Jun 10, 2020 6:15 am

I am the Guice owner and am kinda over seeing him on my roster and never being able to use him. I know he is a better player than Sony but as they say ‘the best ability is availability’. Guice is in a situation with numerous RBs and Sony should be the bell cow in NE for the next two years. Am I foolish to give up on Guice right now for a decent RB2 with volume?

Sony is just awful. I’d take the upside of Guice just in case he stays healthy for once. AP is old and Gibson is more than likely a gadget-guy to start his career.

Tough one. Guice was the consensus 1.02 in 2018 for a reason, he has the talent to be in the RB1 range. Sony isn't as horrendous as people think he is, he's just an average player that was over drafted. The Pat's line should be better this year, and running the ball will be the focal point of the offense most weeks, regardless of who is starting at QB. He's probably a back end RB2/high end RB3 who is a nice depth piece for a contenting team.

Really just comes down to you tolerance for risk, but your roster looks deep enough where you could hold Guice and hope he hits big.

i got sony comfortably ahead of guice. strong chance the patriots lean on the ground game and sony is a fine player and been healthy. he also has a 5th year option that guice doesnt have so that gives him a little more dynasty value in my eyes (not much but rb lifespan is usually not too long)
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

Kenny Clark, josh allen, jaelen phillips, felix a-u and a bunch of fluff and rookie fliers at idp

I have both and am way higher on Guice.

Don't get me wrong, Sony is a nice candidate for a bounce back, and when Isiah Wynn was back in the line up Sony looked alot better (YPC jumped to 4.5), but he doesn't have the pure upside of Guice.

Guice can take over that starting RB spot, and get leaned on by Turner, finally realizing his potential as a top 10 RB. That said, he could also get injured again and fall thru the floor.

Like others have said, it's all about risk tolerance. I see Sony as a Jordan Howard, David Montgomery type of volume play. Whereas Guice can have a poor mans explosion like Dalvin Cook, but he could also get hurt again and be out of the league in a year.

Safety = Sony
Boom/Bust = Guice

Guice is still the better option because of the potential upside.

Honestly, you might be in the same boat with Sony. I'd easily gamble on Guice's upside over Sony, especially in the Pats backfield

Owning both it's Guice.

Sony has opportunity since the Patriots will have to lean on the ground next year, but he really truly just sucks IMO. I expect him to get overtaken by Damien Harris at some point

I really just hate even seeing his name on my roster at this point

Definitely Guice, though WAS just plain sucks. I can't figure that team out, including the coaching change and what they're actually going to look like. I think Rivera turns them around on both sides of the ball, but who knows when.

Who would want Sony after last years debacle? At least Guice looked good when he was out there.
