Njoku value?

I made an offer to a TE needy team of Njoku for a 2021 4th or Cephus, which was rejected and then countered by the other owner for a 2021 5th. With Kittle and Fant on my team, trading Njoku for something would also help out my cut down to the required 20 players by mid-August.

I know adding Hooper hurt Njoku's playing time for this year but feel he is probably worth something between a 3rd and 4th round pick and hate to give him up so cheaply, but that might be his true current value.

This past weekend I put Kittle and Fant on my trade block just to see what kind of interest there might be in one of them, but it's still a bit early and no responses yet. Most teams seem to be in pretty good shape with their TE. Our league does allow a 2nd TE in one of the two flex spots, so depending on how things were going, I could play both in certain weeks. The idea was to maybe trade one of them for a solid RB or a couple of early 2021 picks.

I also have a current offer for Cook and Mattison for two mid to late 2021 1sts and a 2nd but feel 1) that's a bit light and 2) I'd be pretty much giving up on my season before it started with little solid RB depth behind them. As it stands, I think I have a shot at maybe being close to a late playoff spot if Swift becomes my #2 RB by mid-season.

Any thoughts on Njoku's value?

Njoku is simply a hold for me. He has huge upside but no one is going to give much for him currently.

He has 1st round draft capital behind him and I thought he would be possibly traded before preseason but it looks like the Browns want to hang onto him after exercising his option. If I had the roster room to hold him I probably would, but feel I'll have to cut him for zero return in August. Without getting a decent pick or player in return, I'll wait until then and see if something changes with either him or Hooper.

That is a tough spot to be in. It's worth a hold through the offseason and see if/hope something changes.

I still think he has a role in CLE but if he lands in a good trade spot he could easily become a TE1. Don't sell low.

Thanks for the input. Will give it a shot at a hold for right now and hope something changes before late August. May post something new regarding offering Cook/Mattison along with one of either Kittle or Fant and accumulate 1st's for next season. Not really sure if this team qualifies as a rebuild as it sits. Have gone thru that for the past two seasons on another team and it's getting a bit frustrating. Thx.

I traded him recently as a throw in. I couldn't get anything for the guy. I think the market price has to be close to a 3rd though. I think if you have the roster space, pray he gets out of CLE, and somewhere that will use him. If he went to New England, he would instantly be worth a 1st again. He is what, 23 years old? TE takes time.

Njoku is basically untradeable in dynasty right now. He was worth a late 1st a year ago, a better situation could make him worth that again.

He was available in my rookie/FA draft.... 12 team PPR
He was drafted at 6.12

I'm guessing guys like Jonnu + Higbee are yearly on the wire in this league? That may just be his value in that shallow of a league. Trade him for some FAAB and grab him back off the wire around mid season when you know the rest of your bench's worth.

You can hold him (trade value is near zero right now regardless) but I think he's a bust.

I get it, drafted him in R2 myself that year... but already moved on last year.

12 team / PPR Higbee and Jonnu are rostered. My target owner has just Hollister and Akins with everyone else pretty well set at TE. We've already drafted so a number of teams picked up rookies or a few of the decent FA's like Hurst. We can't trade for FA bucks in this league. This was an orphan I bought so he wasn't my choice. With two new rookies in NE, I don't think he'd go there, but a trade to anyone needing a young TE would help. I was surprised when they signed his extension. I have four drops to make with that team by mid-August so we'll see how it goes. Thx for the comments. Appreciated.

He's definitely a frustrating player to own right now, but he's probably a hold for now. A 4th or a 5th in a non IDP league is essentially nothing, so I'd rather ride it out with Njoku.
