Julio

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Postby AresGodOWar » Sat Jun 06, 2020 9:41 pm

I just took over team 5 no one else wanted it lol ...

What do I do with Julio I have never owned him in any league , What is he worth in pick value ?

In my SF startup couple weeks ago he went 31st , 2 picks after Taylor the 3rd rookie off the board , Is that still his value ?

No, I don't think he is a T40 pick in a startup. He's worth a 1st in my opinion, but you are limited in selling him to contenders at this point and his value is only going to decrease from this point.

If you can get a 1st, that is a nice return. You may have to wait until in season though for a contender to add him for a title run.

You are never going to get fair value for him

It appears to be a rebuild, so I'd suggest otherwise.

Yeah I was given it for free and figured I'll see what I can do with it , Umm idk what to do with him , I'm not really worried about positions yet with the rebuild , I mean the worse my team does this year the better my pick will be next year lol ...

Think the best bet is to wait until around the trade deadline and sell high to that team that needs a WR1 to win it all ? Maybe have a bid war on him between the win now teams lol.

I’d hang onto julio and if you feel like you want to trade him do it around Halloween when contenders are sizing up their weaknesses for a playoff run. You’ll get a lot more for him then
Qb: Hurts, geno Smith
Rb: JT, Gibbs, Montgomery, Roschon, Z. White, Ty Chandler
Wr: AJB, JJ, Chase, waddle, G Wilson
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Likely, Njoku

2024 1.01, 1.04, 1.05
10 team
9 players kept yearly
Non PPR
Not super flex
Start 1/1/2/1/2 flex
1 point per first down
All tds 6 points

This. If you sell Julio it has to be for a specific player/s you are targeting. Most likely your best value is in season because older players rise in value as the season approaches. Now I would still test the waters and see if you could get something along the lines of mid 1st (4-7) and a 2nd. Depending on where the first falls. If you want to rebuild I would say target a pick for Jeudy and Cedee, and then see if you can work a deal to get mid to early 2nd.

Another option depending on what picks people have is clean out the late 1st early 2nd picks. Try to get pick 8 or 9 for Reagor, Jefferson. Then 11 thru about 13 for guys like Mims, Higgins, Ruggs. If you dont get Cedee or Jeudy I would want at least 1 from Reagor tier and 1 from Higgins Tier and maybe a late 2nd. If you cant wait until the season starts and Julio throws up 30 pts and then retest. Especially when most of above rookies throw up a single digits to start.

Sounds good , I'll try to move him now for where his rankings and where he is going in startups around 25 , but if I can't get anything good I'll hold onto him and sell during the trade deadline

In a rebuild you need to recoup value for Julio. That team is not competing this year, which is obviously not your fault given that you just took it over. You should be able to do better than just a 1st coming back from a competitive team. It's June right now so people will point to his age as a negative and try and low ball you. Come September when a contending team has an injury or wants to add one more piece to make a run they'll be willing to give more for a stud like Julio.

You play in a bunch of leagues, so you probably already know this, but rebuilds are all about maximizing value in every deal you make regardless of position. Just keep getting good value and worry about your lineups needs later. Taking an Orphan team can be a fun project, good luck!

In a startup I did about a month ago he was taken at 2.11 (Before all rookie draft picks). So there are people out there who value him but you either have to find a competitor or someone who thinks he can live forever.

Not saying that I agree with the pick, just saying some people still love him.

Is that the entire roster? What are the starting requirements? It looks like a rebuild to me. Not sure if you drafted already or not, but I'd be in rebuild / sell off mode currently. If the draft has already happened I'd wait until Julio is Julio in the season and then sell him off to a contender, maybe get a few teams bidding on him.

Must start 10 total , must start 2 QBs , 2-3 RBs , 2-3WRs , 1-2 TEs , must start 2 Ds ... Draft hasn't started yet I got the 1.07..

Its pretty much the only players worth rostering tbh , I kinda took it over because it was really bad and I wanted to do a rebuild really bad since my other 9 teams are young and competitive.

I find the best time to move an aging star is early in the season about week 4-6. There will be a team or 2 with a stacked roster struggling for W's. Another thing I found often works is the injury trade, I saw Julio for a middle 2 and Guice midseason and thought it was a good move for a rebuilding team. That league is a TD league so Julios value is depressed some but the concept was valid.
