Bell for a 2.09 rookie pick?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade my 2.09 for Le'Veon Bell?

Bell for a 2.09 rookie pick?

Postby Avery » Sat Jun 06, 2020 1:18 pm

Team 1 below is epically bad and the off-season has made this bad team even worse.

I have been offered Le'Veon Bell for 2.09.

For a team this bad in the beginning of a re-build, generally the right answer is not to trade for RBs on the backside of their career, and I'm inclined to go with that truism but to play devil's advocate with myself... we do have a 'loser playoff' for draft position so having a viable lineup is helpful or he could be traded for a younger asset to a competing team come the playoffs if he produces.

Would love to hear your thoughts and if it is "Nope", I'd love to hear what you think proper value for Bell would be to my team.

If it helps construct a better offer, his other rookie picks are:
1.12, 2.03, 2.12, 3.12, 4.12, 5.12
Team 1: Dynasty/Contract Team: 12 Team, PPR, QB,1 RB, 2WR, 2 Flex WR/RB, TE (Premium TE scoring: 1.25X receiving yards points)
QB – J. Hurts, A Richardson (R-IR))
RB – Javonte Williams, K. Walker III,J. Hill, J. Ford, K. Miller (R), J.K. Dobbins (IR), K. Hebert (IR)
WR – J. Chase, C. Lamb, K. Allen, T. Burks, DJ Chark, P. Nakua (R)
TE – D. Waller, C. Okonkwo, L. Thomas, J. Ferguson

Team 2: Dynasty Team: 12 Team, 0.5 PPR, QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex WR/RB/TE (Premium TE scoring: 1.5X receiving yards points)
QB - A. Rodgers, L. Jackson
RB - B. Hall, S. Barkley, A. Kamara, E. Mitchell, J. Mason, Z. White, K. Miller (R), T. Spears (R)
WR - T. Hill, D. Adams, C. Watson, M. Brown, R. Rice (R)
TE - D. Waller, G. Kittle, J. Ferguson

I would only make the deal if you can flip Bell for more and help your rebuild. If not, hold the pick.

I don't have anything lined up to flip him (I'm literally looking at fantasy football for the first time since the end of last season today) but if he does produce, he could be flippable... maybe?

I’d accept that easily. He will have a few big games this season and can sell him for more.
10 Team - Full PPR
QB - Wentz, Mayfield, Carr
RB - Chubb, Bell, Conner, Lindsay, McKinnon
WR - Adams, OBJ, AJ Brown, McLaurin, Cooks, Crowder, Watkins
TE - Engram, Goedert, Howard, Knox

I hate Bell but I'd probably make that trade.

This is kinda where I'm hate - but not quite at "probably" yet.

I'm not a fan of Gase or much happening on the Jets and it goes against every fiber of my being to trade for a 28 year old RB when I'm clearly a rebuilding team, but if the value is there... and he'd be my RB1. :wall:

That could be the hope but again, you only have to start 1 RB in this league so the trade market for RBs isn't as strong as some other leagues.

I think I'm at Bell being solid value/good risk at 2.09 in a vacuum. I'm just noodling now on if he's good value for my generationally bad team. :problem:

I'm accepting this deal here. Is he the Bell of a few years ago, no, is the offense as potent as Pitt's, no, but he can still be valuable. A contender will end up making a deal for help down the stretch. You should easily be able to flip him for a higher pick in 2021.
