Potential Mixon Trade

Postby never_punts » Mon May 25, 2020 1:27 pm

Owner in my league has been trying all offseason to acquire Mixon but he's been making weak offers. We've been getting a bit closer this week.

I'm not a Mixon fan as a disclaimer, but I would sell him for that price.

Mixon > Swift
Andrews < Kittle
Williams < Woods

It's not terrible, but I'd still lean Mixon/Andrews side here based on your team. The gap between Mixon and Swift is bigger for me than the gap between Kittle and Andrews.

Your team looks like it's competitive, but I don't love going from starting Mixon to starting Swift if trying to contend.

Mixon side for me, but I could see it both ways depending on player preference.

Appreciate the detailed reply!

If it makes any difference, in 2020 I would be able to flex Woods over Swift if Swift were to start out slowly.

I like Woods, have him myself for my team in sig for depth, went out and spent a first on him prior to last season, but Mixon > Swift > Woods. So Mixon >> Woods.

I'm a believer in Mixon and think he could be a top 5 RB this year in what should be an improved offense. I also like Preston's upside.
and as good as Kittle is, I think Andrews is the real deal. Not saying he's going to outpoint Kittle, but he's def a sold TE. I do however, see this as a pretty fair deal. With your RB depth, or lack thereof, I don't think i'd make this move. I'm not sure i'd be willing to gamble on Swift pretty much having to be a starter for you, at least not in year 1?

Not sure if you are still looking for feedback, but based on your team makeup, I would stick with Mixon and if you are gonna move him, do it in season. I don't think Swift is gonna get off to a hot start or anything but Mixon should pick up where he left off and you can command more.
Too many teams to list here...

Thanks ! The owner also wanted us to swap '21 1sts so the trade fell apart anyway. I agree that my team can't afford to lose Mixon.

Do Kittle and Woods make up for the drop off of Mixon to Swift?? I like the deal, you are upgrading at te and wr, just possibly losing there.

I keep going back and forth on this myself... If I had another "gap filler" RB like Gordon or Gurley or even Bell, I think I'd feel more comfortable taking a gamble on Swift. But my RB depth is completely non-existent right now so I am not sure that I can take the hit of replacing a mid-/low-end RB1 with an unknown sharing a backfield in DET. On top of that, the other owner tried to involve some future 1sts in the deal that had me sending away a likely early 1st next year and not getting the correct value in return, so I think talks are dead if he thinks he can get Mixon *and* a projected early 1st.

it's super close, I'd stick with the Mixon side, but I am admittedly a huge Mixon fan and might not be seeing things objectively. Still, I don't think there's a BAD decision here.
Format - 12-team, keep forever, 0.5 PPR (1.0 PPR for TE), starts QB/2RB/2WR/TE/FLEX/K
QB: Russ, Darnold, Jones
RB: Mixon, Gibson, Henry, Carson, Tarik (IR), Darrynton Evans, Gio Bernard, Rashaad Penny, Deejay Dallas
WR: Keenan, Odell, Robert Woods, Robby Anderson, TY Hilton, John Brown, Ruggs, Tyler Johnson, Tyron Johnson
TE: Henry, Howard, Cook, Everett, Trautman
