Opinions on AJ Dillon - Beast or bust?

I missed on taking AJ Dillon in that team's draft about 10 days ago needing instead to get Tua to hopefully replace Brees next year.

He was taken with the 2.09 in that draft and has ranged between the 2.03 and 2.09 in three others over the past few weeks.

The current owner gave up his 2021 2nd and we're talking about my giving him my 2021 2nd which should be early to mid. On the surafce, it seems like a good deal for either side as I get my potential replacement if Jones leaves Green Bay and he recoups his 2nd pick.

There just seems to be a lot of either love or hate for Dillon out there saying he's either almost a clone of Henry or the next big (in both size and potential) bust in the early round of drafts. Green Bay may have reached quite a bit since he was expected to go maybe in the 3rd or 4th rounds, not the late second, but they obviously used high capital on him and expect him to contribute by next season.

I was planning to pull the trigger on this deal but wanted to get some your your thoughts on what some of you felt honestly about Dillon. Did you draft him your self or was he not even on your "board" as one of the top RB's?

Dillon is worth a 2nd in my opinion, so if you like him and the security of owning him I would go for it. Only time will tell with rookies.

Don't think he's either. Think he'll be a decent back, but nothing overly exciting.

I'm a AJ Dillon fan. He has the talent to succeed. The opportunity may not come until 2021 though.
I like his value in drafts right now. It seems like a fair deal.

Hard to see him being a top end RB in PPR. He's not Derrick Henry. I think he will be heavily TD dependant. 300 touches last year. I'll give you a guess as to how many receptions. Hint: The answer is less than 1.

I like him as an intriguing prospect, but I think they will re-sign Aaron Jones. I have personally had back luck with buying the “next in line” RBs in the past like Darrell Henderson, Ito Smith, Tevin Coleman, Jordan Wilkins types. While I’m still willing to invest, I won’t overpay to acquire either.

Feels like his ceiling is more like Jordan Howard than D Henry. So ask yourself if you’d trade a 2nd for Jordan Howard? That should give you your answer
