Keenan or 1.08 in SF PPR?

Postby pvillebiker » Sat May 23, 2020 9:38 am

From a value perspective, which side in super flex, PPR, start 3 WR, 2 RB?

Love Keenan, but something tells me his production will suffer a bit with the Bolt's QB carousel coming up.

I would still hold Allen.

I'd need more for Keenan. His value is still higher than that.

Wow, interesting. Didn't expect so much Keenan love. Especially with the 1.08 being in superflex - with at least 2 QB's going before then. It's like the 1.06 in a 1QB league.

Note - Keenan was offered to me for my 1.08. Haven't fully decided, but indicated to the offering owner that I wanted to go younger, since I'm rebuilding.

I really like Jefferson - or per chance Jeudy and/or Lamb even better if either falls to 1.08.

1 of those guys should derinitely be available at 1.08 in SF. If you like them better, pass.

I’m on the other side, unless I’m a legit contender, I’m taking 1.08 in superflex. I was able to get C.Lamb at 1.09 in one of my SF rookie drafts(Jeudy went 1.10). It’s not that I don’t like Allen, I still own him in some leagues but I’m looking to move him and have in one league, because his value is only going down, at this point, so unless I’m a contender, he’s not a player I’m looking to acquire anymore.

I'd take the pick quite easily, actually. This could easily be a guy like Lamb. You need to take this offer, if you are rebuilding. Don't listen to the poll IMO. LOL. It's your team. Chances are you don't get a better offer than this. Allen has a new QB who he has no rapport with, and has hit the age apex. His value is in decline. This is a really good class, and that 1.08 is worth more than an average class. Nobody here will have to deal with trying to sell Keenan for a first plus and not even getting an offer for a first anymore, you will. So make sure you do what you want, in the end. In 2 years you will be kicking yourself for not taking this pick if it's on the table for a rebuilding team, IMO.

I’m a Keenan owner and a fan, but as FF mentioned, his value will only continue to decline due to age, regardless of how he performs this year. I’m a contender (finished 2nd two of the past three seasons), but I’d have a hard time passing on this offer. In a rebuild, it’s a much easier decision. That said, if you do make the deal, I’d look to swap the 1.08 for a couple early/mid 2nds, if possible. I don’t really see a huge gap, if any, between the tier 1 WRs and the guys in the next tier down. I’d much rather have two of Mims, Shenault, Reagor, Higgins, Edwards or Pittman rather than one of Jeudy, Lamb or JJ. Either way, this is likely the best offer you’re gonna get to cash out on Keenan.

It's Keenan for me. While yes his value may continue to decline, and he is routinely undervalued, you're looking at a wr, Akers, or Herbert at 1.08. only Herbert and Akers really have a significant chance of increasing in value (rookie wrs tend not to), and if Herbert increases in value dramatically, chances are Keenan's would increase too.

In a rebuild, yes this may be the best deal you can get for Keenan, but it's still undervaluing him and I'd rather keep him. Also note, this changes for me if the pick is on the clock and Dobbins or swift is there. I'd gladly trade Keenan for either of those rbs.

It would most likely change for the guy who has the pick, too, if Dobbins or Swift were still there. Reality is, people waffle often, you take it when you can. The bolded encapsulates exactly why he should make this deal. Allen not only does not help his team, it hurts it. He's rebuilding so a veteran producer like Allen hurts his pick next year, and does nothing for his future. Allen's value will decline, and is routinely undervalued, as you state, so how much more will he be undervalued a year from now when he is 29 coming off a down year most likely, with a worse QB than he has had in the past, when he tries to trade him then?

I think I addressed this in the last paragraph, saying in a rebuild it may be the best deal possible, but for me personally I'd just keep Keenan. I'd be willing to sell him in season for 2021 capital as well. Ultimately I think the timing is just not right for this trade. 2020 pick value is sky high.

Op: what 2020 and 2021 draft capital do you have? Is the guy with 1.08 a legitimate contender?

Just re-read. It was late, noticed OP had the pick. Easy hold. You don't trade that pick for 1.08 in a rebuild. Allen hurts your pick next year being on your roster, and if you are trading for him in the hopes for flipping him for a little bit more, you are playing Fantasy Football musical chairs of sorts and might be left without a chair so to speak. In your situation, sticking with the childhood games analogy, he is more like a hot potato if you trade for him. BTW, this is a favourite of mine.
