Orphan Advice

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Orphan Advice

Postby Packerland » Tue May 19, 2020 7:23 pm

Hey guys,

Just took over an orphan that had some decent pieces but looking to re-tool for the long haul made a few trades and retooled a bit via the draft. I like where I am at WR but my RB's are very poor, any advice or deals you can see?

1 QB League PPR, Start 9 TE Premium 1.5

Roster:
QB: Mahomes, Minshew
RB: JT, Guice, Howard, Mattison
WR: AJB, DK, Deebo, Justin Jefferson, Mims, Peoples-Jones
TE: Kittle, Goedert, Jarwin

Picks: 2021 1 1st, 2 2nds, 2 3rds, 3 4ths, 1 5th

Thank you!
10 Team .5 PPR 1 QB League

QB: Goff, Brady, Herbert, Tannehill
RB: CEH, JT, Akers, Dobbins, Mixon
WR: Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Lamb, Chark, Claypool, Pittman, Diontae, Anderson
TE: Andrews, Goedert

Picks:
2021: 4 1sts, 1 2nd
2022: 1 1st, 2 2nds

TBH I would hold throughout the year. You don't really have pieces you can afford to lose unless you sell low. I would hold and start:
Mahomes
JT,
AJB, DK, Deebo,
Kittle, Goedert

and 2 of Jefferson, Mims, or Guice
Jake Fromm State Farm (12 team PPR SF)
QB: Purdy, ARich (TS), Levis (TS), Bagent, Hall, Rudolph, Fromm
RB: Roschon (TS), Allgeier, Hill, Demercado, McLaughlin, Mitchell, K. Harris, E. Wilson
WR: Addison, London, Jmo, Shaheed, Reed (TS), Pop D, Iosivas, C. Jones, Mooney, T. Palmer, Scott, Tucker, Austin, Gipson, Melton,
TE: Musgrave, Mayer (TS), Trautman, Gray, Jordan
2024: 1.01, 1.07, 2.04, 2.10, 2.11, 3.01, 3.06, 3.07, 3.11
2025: 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4

You have a nice base to build around moving forward and would probably hold for now. Hopefully Guice makes a jump and helps your RBs. Howard and Jarwin are the only two I would like to sell if they have a good start to the year.

That's kind of what I was thinking when I was looking at the team. Unfortunately next year is a strong WR class with only a few good RB prospects...guess we will have to see.

Appreciate that advice!

I agree with you. If Guice can stay healthy then I might be onto something. This team still feels like a non playoff team but who knows, very little depth.

Wait until right after the season and try to acquire a top 3-4 pick. You'll get Hubbard or Etienne there ,and maybe another RB has a strong season and sneaks into the top3

I agree you should wait and see. Any trade for RB now would include more pieces than you can afford and/or your 2021 1st. You have quite a few young pieces with room to grow. Besides, Howard should get enough carries this season to be a serviceable RB2 and Guice may finally keep it together.
