L. Jackson Value (1QB)

I think I'm about ready to compete this season (team 2 in sig), and my weakest position is probably QB. The Lamar Jackson owner is in a total rebuild so may want to flip him. Not quite sure where to start with him...

Would 2 firsts + Tua be in the ballpark for an opening bid or should I start higher? Or would you recommend targeting someone cheaper?

I would try a 1st + Tua to start. It's a fair offer to see where the rebuilding owners value is.

I wouldn't pay Tua + 2 firsts for Jackson, you are buying jackson at his highest possible price. Just like buying Mahomes after his 2018 year.

Based on your roster, this may not be the year to make that push. You have quite a few good young players, but very few I would consider at the top of their position rankings. Let your players mature another year and see what those picks bring next offseason through rookie or trade. I’d be willing to bet you’ll be happier with your collection of talent and be able to make more informed decisions about what trades to make.

I know I lack a top tier guy and my team is likely going to be better next year than this year, but there aren't any behemoths in this league and my roster is probably top 4 for 2020 as-is, not even counting all of the 2021 draft capital.

I think you are fine with Wentz. I also don't think that team competes this year. You have some good young players, but I think you are still a year away from contending. I wouldn't be selling multiple assets to upgrade at QB unless you think Jackson puts you over the top, which I don't think he does. I'd at least wait until the season to see if you are contending or not, and then decide if you want to pay the price for him.

I wouldn't do it, your RBs are very questionable with CEH being a rookie and Gurley's knee issues. If you are indeed a competitor, Ryan will do fine at QB for you, and if you aren't then shipping off 2 1st round picks limits your ability to be a contender in the next year or two.

This is probably the right move...thanks for the advice. If Jackson scores 28 ppg again he probably actually would put me over the top, but shouldn't be banking on that (or paying a price that assumes that).

Save your picks and roll with Wentz here. If you give up too many picks early and need to bolster your roster before down the stretch you want that fire power.

Try and shift Conner if you are waiting a year. I wouldn't bank on him going into 2021...or second half of 2020 tbh.

In a 1 QB league, I'm never ever paying that much for a QB. 2 1sts are huge, and Tua has every chance to be a top 10 QB in a couple of years. Wentz puts up big numbers, and you're not short of bye week fillers. I'm sticking there and grabbing some of the great talent that will be available next year.

In a SF/2QB then yeah decent offer but in a 1QB league no QB is worth 2x 1sts + another QB.

I think 1 1st + Tua is already the top end of what i'd pay.

Maybe that's just me.

I hold LJax in a SF and if someone offered 2x 1sts and a top rookie QB i'd probably sell, let alone 1QB leagues.
