Tua value as my QB3 in superflex? Got a guy asking about him

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Tua value as my QB3 in superflex? Got a guy asking about him

Postby Mr. Wizard » Sat May 09, 2020 10:35 am

I'm new to superflex so still getting a grasp on values. This is for Team 2 in my sig, where I'm wrapping up the startup draft and I've got Kyler, Dak, and Tua. I'm not really looking to move Tua, I think having the three QBs is a great asset and the drop to Eason is precipitous. However, he sounds like he might be willing to make a godfather offer, I'm not sure. He's offered his entire 2022 draft class (he managed to move his entire 2021 draft class already during the startup...) and made clear that was "just for starters," so figured I'd at least take a look.

His team:
Burrow, Brees
Dalvin, Aaron Jones, Carson, Kerryon, Gibson, Mattison, Armstead
Lamb, Jefferson, Manny Sanders, Jeffery, Gandy-Golden
Andrews, Gronk, Cook

What would be a competitive ask? IS there a competitive ask? Can't say I love his team, though there are some nice rookies and Mark Andrews. Burrow is obviously not really in question because he's trying to add a young QB, not lose one.

Anything you think I should be asking for or just stand pat?

I’d only be interested in Dalvin, Andrews and Lamb from his team. First round picks two years out does nothing for me

I would accept Cook straight up which won’t happen or Andrews + Lamb. You’d have to get a qb in return too

If you are to trade Tua, you need a QB coming back in SF. He probably won’t move either QB as he needs both of them. While 22 1st hold value, I’d hold Tua here. 22 is a ways away.

I see nothing here. Hold Tua. Picks two years out don’t add much.

All the 2022 picks is not even close to a godfather offer. In fact I sniff a cheapskate.

There are no even deals from what I see. So he will def have to overpay. Jones and Lamb type stuff.

I'd ask for Andrews + 2022 1st but accept Andrews + 2nd.

A godfather offer would be the 2022 picks, cook, and Jones. If he wanted tua he should have taken him into he startup. The 2022 picks aren't worth anything. Cook is entering his 4th year and has an acl injury. A big drop in production is coming. Jones is in his last year in green bag. Tua is a top rookie QB prospect. If he wants tua he has to pay. But hey I'm low on cook and jones

That is reeeeeeally a godfather offer.

I think I'd take Cook straight up considering he is a top 12 startup player. A reasonable godfather offer would be something like Andrews, Lamb and 2022 1st. The first is meh so far out, your league might break up by then, but the other two are like a 1.02+1.06 for Tua and that's fair enough considering you are still getting the 1st in a few years on top.

This is only the 3rd year I've played SF and it's waaaaay harder now to get QBs than it was when we started.

Thanks all. Kinda what I was thinking. I highly doubt he’ll do anything with Cook so the play would probably be like Andrews and Lamb minimum. Doubt he’ll do that either, but hey.

Make him make the offer. People saying cook+ are just being ridiculous. Cook goes 3 rounds earlier in startups.. would take a lot more than the 2022 draft tho.

I would just keep Tua. You are correct to lean towards having 3, mostly for injury but it’s a luxury around bye weeks. QBs are never cheaper than during the startup. If you go into the season with two and decide later you’d rather have one more, your choices are paying for older 1-2yr rentals or overpaying yourself.

Unless your down on Tua’s projected longevity in the league, I’d hold.
