Gallup's Value

Postby Ktmjelde » Thu Apr 30, 2020 4:20 am

Wondering where everyone pegs Gallup's value in a regular PPR league with the Cowboys drafting Lamb. I was pretty excited about his future, but now i feel like he is limited. I was thinking about trying to move him for 1.11....... Thoughts?

I'd probably hold him at this point. I still like his talent. Everyone was concerned about Gallup and his value when the Cowboys traded for Cooper, and Gallup's stats ended up going up and his value went up. So I wouldn't panic sell him.

There have been multiple threads started post the NFL draft. I would look through the forum because there have been lots of opinions given on that.
I would hold out for more than 1.11.

Solid hold as most probably would not give more than a 2nd with Lamb landing in Dallas.

I wouldn’t sell too low but if I could get the 1.11 I’d take that. Doubt most people would give a 1st for him now.

I'm not sure many are even paying the 1.11 for Gallup at this point. I still like Gallup long-term, but I'd sell for that and grab someone like Vaughn, Reagor, or Ruggs there.

In SF I'd move Gallup for 1.11 pretty easily. In 1QB I'd hold, but I see a tier drop after the top 10, so unless a player fell out of that group and became available at 1.11 I'd hold Gallup. That said, I'm not sure you can get a 1st for him right now. I don't see that offense supporting 3 fantasy relevant WRs in 2020, and long term I think Gallup will be 3rd in the pecking order there.

I'd move Gallup for the 1.11 real quick. But I'd be surprised if most paid a 2nd for him right now.

We're that down on a young guy with 1,100 yards from a year ago? I'd gladly give up my 1.10 for him right now, who knows what type of production I'll get from that pick.

I'd personally gamble on the 1.10 than expect Gallup to get 110+ targets again this season.

I posted this in a different Gallup thread, but it's basically the same, so here's the post, and why I wouldn't sell for 1.11 - It would have to be a better 1st than that.

We don't know what Lamb will or won't be. We have high hopes, but ultimately he's an unknown. Even if Lamb "broke out" as a rookie, those numbers won't be that much better than Cobb put up last yr. We know that Gallup just broke out, and actually put up better efficiency numbers than Cooper. We also know that Gallup will be a FA in two seasons, and that Cooper's contract is very flexible after this upcoming season for a trade or cut scenario.

Gallup has already shown he can be a good player in the NFL (so you know he won't bust like some rookies will), and he can put up 1000+ yards and 6+TDs in these two yrs, even with the three headed monster WR core, making him a flex play at worst.

In all likelihood Gallup is off to better situation in two yrs, or Coop is gone in one. Either way, you're only waiting one to two yrs max for his situation to improve...and the normal timeline for a rookie WR to pop is 2 - 3 yrs.

So, when you factor in bust potential with rookies, and that Gallup and a rookies timeline to 'pop' is similar at worst (at best Gallup maintains his 2019 level of production), Gallup is still better off than a late 1st rookie pick IMO.
